We walked into President Faust's office. The two men stood on either side of the door holding it open as I walked in and took a seat in one of the chairs.
I heard the men walk out of the room and close the doors behind them as they walked out.
A figure spun around in their chair (very unnecessarily dramatically might I add) and looked at President Faust who was standing behind me.
"Thank you for retrieving Dr. Vano. However you are unneeded now President. You may leave."
She immediately walked out without even the slightest hesitation.
Quirking my eyebrow I looked at the unknown person expectedly.
"Dr. Vano I am the director of a secret organization known as the Arctic Security Association and I am here today to ask for your help."
"And what exactly does your organization do?" I inquired.
"We monitor ghost activity in the Arctic."
———
WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT EVEN MEAN???
We monitor ghost activity in the Arctic.
WHAT
Okay. Chill Aspen.
It's just...
Everyone thought I was crazy.
But...
I knew I wasn't.
I also know governments lie.
But THIS.
Still... I have to know how they do it.
How they hid it from everyone for years.
I guess that means I have to help them.
But that doesn't mean I'll be easy to deal with.
———
While this conversation was occurring in my head my face was contorted in a weird fashion facing the man in the chair.
He thought I didn't believe that ghosts were real. Well was he sooooo wrong.
He seemed to be waiting for my response.
I soon came back to reality and seeing that the man (whose name I still don't know) pulled out a folder of proof that ghosts exist.
"Now I know this is difficult to be..."
"I'll do it."
He looked confused.
"What?"
"I said I'll do it."
He put away his folder.
"Okay then."
He then handed me a different folder.
"Please read trough this and expect a call from us soon."
I grabbed the folder and headed home.
