UNEXPECTEDLY EXPECTED
That night when everyone should have been sleeping. I could hear my parents down stairs my dad was whispering loudly and my mum was almost screaming. Now, I know I shouldn't be eavesdropping but I had to hear what they were saying.
''they think that you hate them!'' My mum said angrily.
Dad sighed. '' I don't, they know that and so should you''
'' Well you never spend any time with them. And never show them that you care!''
They kept arguing but I was too scared to listen any more.
The next morning, I woke early and went down stairs. When I came in to the living room, my parents were there. ''Honey we need to talk to you about something very important.'' My mum said quietly. My heart started to pound. Did they see me or maybe hear me eavesdropping last night? I shifted around and fiddled with my fingers uncomfortably.
''don't worry honey none of this happening because of you.'' My mum reassured me.I took a deep breath and sat down on the couch facing them trying to seem more confident than I actually was. I looked ahead staring straight at the wall. Hopefully it looked like I was looking at them. My mum cleared her throat. '' me and your father might be getting a divorce.'' I said nothing but my head was filled with a silent scream. '' this is for the best,'' my dad said softly.
Now I don't know what went over me but my only reply was, ''GOOD.''
Parents eyes widened as I got up from my chair and ran up the stairs. After a little while I grabbed my stuff for school, snuck out of the house and ran all the way to school.
