Breathing

Such a vital part of a basic human functioning, so simple and yet so important. You don't even realise you do it half the time. But those moments when you become aware of your own breathing you don't really want to be bothered by constantly having to breathe, it becomes a tedious task.

In the city, where the air is filled with hatred and nasty chemicals clawing at each organ, breathing is almost painful and certainly not pleasant. But here, where the brightly lit sky almost blends with the sapphire sea waving kindly at each passing person and where the sand is curling around your feet calmly massaging your skin as you walk, slowly taking step after step, breathing becomes enjoyable. A task so basic and so easy, that usually becomes a burden, can, with a simple change of scenery, become captivating and cleansing with each deeper and larger breath.
