She stares at her phone, astonished that Thomas Sanders actually replied to her.

She was holding back a scream, but she was worried that someone would hear. Her parents might hear her and know that she was awake in the middle of the night. She read the message.

I did not realize my fans had depression and suicidal thoughts. Obviously, not everyone is happy like I wish they were, but I never imagined someone's life being bad enough to even think about committing suicide. My heart aches for you, and I wish that you stay on this world. Is there anything I can do to make you feel better? You said you were a few states away, but maybe I can have you come to Florida for a visit. If that's okay with you obviously.

She reread the message and quickly typed out the reply.

I didn't think you'd actually respond. I hate that I have made your heart ache, and I wish you to be happier than I can ever be. As with your offer you presented, I am fine with it. I live in Colorado, and hope that buying a plane ticket for me won't cost too much.

She set her phone down and walked into her bathroom. Ignoring the blade, she reached for the hair brush and untangled her hair. Her brown hair wasn't silky smooth, but it was smooth enough.

Wait, why did she care? She wasn't leaving her house for several hours to go to school.

Thomas was looking at his messages when Patton walked in.

"Hey Buddy, what are ya doing?" Patton says enthusiastically.

"Just talking to a fan, nothing too special. I invited them to come here, but they live in Colorado and I'd have to buy them plane tickets," Thomas replies shrugging, "It'll be worth it though."

"It sure will!" Patton exclaims.

Thomas had a sudden thought. He knew nothing about the person he had just invited to his house.

I just thought about this, but I know nothing about you and I just invited you to my house. Can you tell me the basics about yourself. Name, age (if you would like to), gender, etc.

Thomas put his phone down and sighed. What was he doing? His phone vibrated and he picked it up.

My name rhymes with a state founded in 1796, it is 9 states after Maryland and 34 states before Hawaii. Good luck!

Thomas blinked twice before comprehending the riddle. It didn't even rhyme. He guessed it meant by statehood, so he looked it up.

Maryland was the 7 state. 7 plus 9 is 16, so he looked at the 16th state. Tennessee. Hawaii was the 50th state. It pointed back to Tennessee. Her name rhymed with Tennessee.
