I am sorry I haven't updated in a while!

.

Logan closes his book and leans back in his office chair. Another day of work. He was bored out of his mind. It had been weeks since the incident, and Gems has hardly come out of her room. Virgil and Patton often visited her. Thomas didn't seem to care that she had been over for a while, and to be honest, everyone enjoyed her staying here. She had met several of Thomas' friends and seen places around Florida that Thomas loved.

He had heard from Thomas that she was leaving them for a little bit. Logan tried to reason with him, saying that he should go with to make sure she's gonna be okay. He refused and said that he had it under control. Logan severely doubted Thomas' words, but dropped the subject.

.

(This is a flashback from a few days ago.)

.

Gems had left her phone on the table. Thomas had noticed this, and grabbed her phone. He never looked through someone's phone, unless he had their absolute permission, but he needed to do something.

Already knowing her password from accidentally seeing it, he unlocked her phone with ease. Going into her contacts, he added his own then copied her parent's and one of her close friend's phone numbers. He set her phone back on the table exactly how she left it.

Gems walked out of her room in a baggy shirt and sweatpants. Her hair was tied up in a messy bun.

"Thomas, have you seen my phone? I must've left it out her somewhere..." she explained. Her voice sounded hoarse.

"Yeah, it's on the table," he paused, "are you feeling okay? You sound sick."

"I dunno. My throat hurts a little..." she trailed off and grabbed her phone.

Thomas stood up and walked towards her. He set a hand on her forehead. "Your head is hot," he stated.

"Open your mouth, please," he asked. She obliged and opened her mouth. "Your tongue is white, but your tonsils aren't swollen, which is a good thing."

Logan walked down the stairs. "She might have a fever."

Gems and Thomas looked at Logan as he walked closer. Logan holds up a thermometer that neither of them noticed.

Logan stuck the end of the thermometer into her mouth and she closed around it.

(That's what she said.)

(I'm sorry.)

He pulled it out and looked at the temperature. "Yep. She has a fever," he said.

Gems looked at Thomas. "Me need the sleep and the hot liquids."

Thomas laughed. "I'll have Patton make you hot chocolate," he said.

Patton's head poked out from the top of the stairs. "I'll make it taste like s'mores. I'll even make cookie dough!" he exclaimed.

Logan adjusted his glasses. "Are we not going to talk about her incorrect grammar?"

.

(Flashback over.)

.

Thomas had texted and even called Gems' parents to explain why she hasn't been home.

He arranged a Skype call so they can talk.

He opened his computer and loaded Skype. Her parents faces showed up, his own face showing up in a corner of the screen.

After a few minutes of "can you hear me?" and camera checks, they began their discussion.

.

Patton knocks on Gems' door and glances at Virgil. The door opens  and Gems looks at the boys. She had a blanket wrapped around her, loosely hanging off her shoulders.

Patton holds up a bowl of cookie dough and 3 spoons. He smiles as he sees Gems' eyes light up.

"You really didn't have to, Patton," she says.

"It's chocolate chip," Virgil adds.

Gems opens the door further. "Get your butts in here!" she playfully yells.

The boys walk in and close the door. Virgil sits down next to Gems on her bed. Patton hands out the spoons and sets the bowl on Gems' lap.

"Are you feeling today? Any better?" Virgil asks.

Gems takes a scoop of cookie dough. "Eh," she says and puts the spoon and cookie dough in her mouth. She is silent for a moment before swallowing. "This is so good!" she moans softly.

(That's what he said.)

(I'm sorry.)

(I'll stop.)

Patton beams, "Thanks! I added soft chocolate chips so they wouldn't be hard."

Virgil takes a scoop and puts it in his mouth. "She's right," he says with a mouthful of cookie dough, "This is delicious."

Gems smiles. "I know right!"

Patton gets some and eats it. His eyes light up. "I did a good job with this!" he says before shoving more in his mouth.

.

Thomas says his goodbyes and exits Skype. He had what he wanted and couldn't wait to break the news to Gems and the sides.

.

Okay... I know this is a shorter chapter that usual... but I wanted to end on a cliffhanger. I probably won't update for a bit, so you'll be wondering what will happen next. I will try to get the next chapter out as soon as I can. I'm sorry I haven't been updating a lot, but I'll try harder to update faster.
