You know that moment when something wrong happens, you just sit there and think, "What could I have done to prevent that from happening?" or "What if I was there earlier and I could've stopped it from happening?" Well, I'm living one of those moments right now.

They just took her away from me and now I won't ever get to see her again. They were heartless, brutal, and undeserving of the human life.

And Macey had to suffer the consequences of them.

I guess as her best friend, you'd expect me to mourn over her death, spend countless hours locked up in my room just moping, and starve myself because life is not good enough without her...

Well, you're wrong.

I'm going to find that bastard who did this to my best friend and I would bring her justice. You all mark my words.

I am never going to give up on her because if I were the one murdered, she would do the exact same thing for me.

I will-

"Ryan, come down for dinner!"

"Okay." I mumbled.

I ran upstairs and sat down for dinner with my sister and mom.

"How was your day sweetie?"

"They found Macey's body in the lake, down the street."

"Oh my God." I heard my mom mutter. "How are you holding up, honey?"

"Umm.... Good."

"Honey, you don't need to pent up your feelings because one day, you're just going to let it all go and snap at the people who are there for you and care for you."

I had nothing to say to that so I just muttered a simple "ok."

"I'm not feeling to well, may I please be excused?"

"Sure, just tell me if you need anything."

I nodded. As a proceeded down the stairs, I could hear them talking about me. I just ignored them and  focused on what I was doing previously.

Thinking.

Maybe I should go and check out what's happening at the lake.

I heard this guy named Markey Doe...? found her body.....

To be honest, I never met him and she never talked about him. Talk about weird because we talked about everything.

Or at least I thought.

I mean there's one time where she lied to me about her boyfriend, Seth. But, I didn't care. I mean he was a lot older than she was but there's nothing wrong with that. I just let them be as in, if they're happy, they're happy.

But now, I guess my perspective has changed on that topic. She's now gone and without knowing anything/anyone who could've done it, I have to put everyone into view.

I pulled into a spot and got out of the car. I went to the area where she was found.

The area was filled with "do not cross" tapes.

I looked all around the perimeter for evidence or clues but I couldn't find anything.

"Well, this was pointless."

I went back into the car and drove home.

"Where have you been? It's ten o'clock and I've been worried sick!"

"I'm fine now. I'm here right? All in one piece so you can calm down. I've been having a rough day so can you just lay off?!"

"I didn't know you felt that way, I'm sorry."

She then went upstairs to bed.

I went down stairs into my room and decided to do some research on cases like Macey's.

I came across another case where this other teenage girl was brutally beaten, raped and then killed all in two weeks. That case happened about a year ago.

There were multiple other cases involving murder but none like Macey's.

My computer beeped, signaling that it was low on battery. I plugged it in and decided that it was time for me to sleep.

I got into bed and started thinking about the event that had been happening earlier...

The death of Macey.

I mean who would kill her and why... it just doesn't make sense. I mean yeah, obviously there are going to be some haters, but I didn't know anyone that would go as far as killing her.

Before I knew it, all of these thoughts were clouding my head. They gave me a headache.... so I came up with a solution...

Sleep.
