The Sunset

A/N  they are all 16 in this story, the age may vary in stories but I'll still let you know how old they are and how they look.

3rd Person View

''Saaaaaaam.''

''What is it, Danny?'' the book-reading goth replied.

''I'm bored,'' the halfa stated, blandness dripping off his words.

''Then find something to do.'' Sam simply instructed, finally peeking up from her book to see Danny floating in circles above his bed.

''But,Sammy, I wanna do something with you.'' he sighed, avoiding her eyes.

Sam,hearing these words,felt heat creep up her face. She would never admit it, but she loved his nickname for her.

''Where's Tucker?'' Sam asked no one in particular, looking around the room for her teck-savy friend.

''His mom called, saying something about having to babysitting his cousins.'' Danny replied, now hovering above the floorboards.

After checking the time, Danny snatched Sam's book, which she had returned to reading , right out of her hands.

''Danny!'' Sam exclaimed,bewildered by his sudden change of mood.

''Come on, I need to show you something.'' he said, offering his hand to his confused friend.

As curiosity got the best of her, she took his hand as he went intangible and flew up to the roof of Fenton Works.

''What are we doing up here?'' Sam asked the young halfa.

''Watching the sunset.'' he replied, pointing out to the far west.

Wondering what was so special about it that she had to see it on the roof, she turned her gaze due west and was soon mesmerized by what was before her.

The sun changed to hues of orange, and tangerine. It melted into the sky, like juice-mix dissolves in water. The clouds were like cotton-candy, blushing at the sun's warmth. Silhouettes of birds flew across the now magenta sky and the sun was half-way into the water, but its beautiful reflection on the shimmering water made it look complete. The dusty sky's mauve intensified, and soon enough, the biggest star would set, giving way to a thousand others

''It's the only things I could find that way nearly as breath-taking as you.'' Danny said, his face now a bright red.

''Y-you think I'm b-breath-taking?''she managed to stammer, stunned at his compliment.

''I don't think so, I know so'' he replied staring into her amethyst eyes.

As her amethyst eyes melted into his ocean blue eyes, Danny finally mustered up enough courage to say 4 words he's wanted to say for 2 years.

''S-sam, I l-love you''

Surprised and relived, she said a short but meaningful phrase.

''I love you too,Danny''

Planting a kiss on his cheek, she leaned her head onto his shoulder and stared at the starry sky.

They sat on the roof that evening, filled with the joy of finally accepting their true feelings for each other.
