( it's 2:22AM and i'm awake so why not update? I don't know how often I should update. Weekly? Twice a week? as long as I have a few chapters written in advanced, i don't mind frequent updates. header media is a little explanation on how Bexey keeps track of meds for those who don't understand it. vote n comment, my dudes. thanks <3 )

Bexey slept happy and content, rolling over and nuzzling closer to Peep's side, face indented in the other's ribcage. Peep, didn't fall asleep at all. He laid there, arm lazily around Bexey, and the other behind his head as he stared at the ceiling.

He was tired but nights like these happened to him from time to time. His eyes were heavy and burned from being open for so long but his mind still wandered, leaving his body to suffer. It could have been worse. At least he was comfortable, not tossing and turning trying to find a position that he could lay in for more than two minutes. His body was lax and tension free. It only made him a bit more confused as to why he couldn't just fall asleep.

It was just his mind; he couldn't shut it off.

He didn't even know what he was thinking about, thoughts racing a million miles an hour. Once a new thought popped into his head, he forgot what he was thinking before that, and then it was a puzzle trying to retrace his train of thought back to the previous idea. It was a cycle, and not a nice one.

How was his mom doing? His brother? Dog? Was it cold in New York right now? Had the leaves started changing yet? Has Bexey seen the leaves change? Do the leaves change in London? Is he homesick? Is L.A. too hot for him? Would he rather be in London? Did he take his meds?

If Peep wasn't awake already, he probably would have jolted right up. Instead, he craned his neck up, peering at the desk, careful not to wake his friend. The orange canisters were upside down, meaning he had taken his morning doses last.

This annoyed him; he was even half tempted to wake Bexey up right then and make him take his meds. He knew it'd be pointless and that he'd have to wait till morning anyway. He thought of waking him up just to scold him for not taking his medicine, but decided against it.

He looked mighty peaceful while he slept, Peep thought, like a baby bunny. It'd be sinful to wake such a content creature.

He watched his friend sleep for a few minutes. The rise and fall of his chest with each inhale and exhale, the occasional little twitch, flutter of lashes. He focused on the boy, mind slowing down, and soon he became tired.

Extremely tired.
