The Knights looked astonished as they saw Clay coming back, with unstoppable tears rolling down his cheeks.
"Clay," Macy called him. "You okay?"
Clay ignored her. He went into his room and shut the door.
"What's gotten into him?" Asked Lance as he took a sip of his "lancetastic" soda. "I've never seen him cry before, is he okay or somethin'?"
"I don't know," Macy replied. "He's never been like this before. He just ignored me..."
"Merlok," Robin asked the wise wizard. "What happened to Clay?"
"It seems that he couldn't manage to reform his mother," Merlok replied. "Let me talk to him."
Merlok created a hologram in Clay's room.
"My dear nephew, is everything okay?"
"Does it look like everything's okay to you?" Clay asked him, frustrated. "*sigh* You're right, Merlok, but there's still some remaining evil magic in her."
"Does this mean that you saw the good in her?" Merlok asked his nephew.
"Yes, but not in a good way," Clay said. "She wanted to give me the best she could give, but it involves joining Monstrox' evil crew... She thinks that her actions are right, and I couldn't stop her from thinking like that. Monstrox is such a jerk! No one would ever do this to my mother except for him. I-I don't know what to do next..."
"Hmm... My dear child, you'll just have to wai-"
"WAIT?!? I couldn't wait at a time like this! My mother is still in there, and I want to save her from that monster!" Clay is furious.
"Clay, my nephew," Merlok tried to calm him down. "As I've told you, that the evil magic in her might've started to fade away, but there's still some evil in her. You have no choice but to give her some time. Do listen to me, my child, it is for your own good."
"Merlok," Clay called him.
"Yes? my child," Merlok replied.
"Thank you," Clay smiled as his eyes met his uncle's. "I'll wait."
"Oh, my child..." Merlok smiled at him as well. "You may be a little hot-headed sometimes, but you're a good man, and a great Knight."
The two then chatted for quite some time. They had a wonderful moment. But, what they didn't notice, is that the others are peeping through Clay's slightly opened door, how mischievous!
"Clay's smile gave me goosebumps," said Macy.
"Looks like someone has a crush on the 'Uptight Knight'!" Lance messed with her ponytail as he joked.
"HEY!!!!!!!! Why you..." Macy blushed as she messed with his hair.
"MY HAIR!!! MY BEAUTIFUL CURLY HAIR!!!" Lance shrieked as the others laughed uncontrollably.
"What is going on out there?" Clay asked as he heard the noise and came out of his room. "And what happened to you, Lance? Your hair is all messed up! *looks at Macy* Yours too, Macy! What were you guys doing?!?"
"Oh, nothing..." The others replied together as Lance patted Macy's head.
"Since we had so much fun out here, maybe you could...just...join us?" Lance asked.
"FUN?!? JOIN YOU GUYS?!?" Clay looked at them sternly as they gulped, afraid that Clay will scold them.
"Then... Why don't you ask me earlier? Hahaha!" Clay laughed as the others sighed in relief. "I like your hair, Lance, it's better than before! Macy has such a great sense of fashion!"
Macy blushed bright red.
"Ah, Knights nowadays..." Merlok smiled as he watched the others play like they're little kids. But then he frowned, as he wished that his sister was here to join the fun...
