Justin's POV
What was said about Miley really bothered me. They have no right to talk to her, or about her, like that. What made me go even further was the fact that she remained unbothered by what they were saying. I understand that in this career we have to act strong and ignore the critics but they had crossed a line and it seemed that Miley didn't even notice.
Did she agree with what they were saying? I sure didn't.
Someone needed to stand up for her. Liam was out bashing her name left and right, and I am not having that. As long as I am in her life, that will not be tolerated.
The car ride to the hotel was silent as I sat with my thoughts in overdrive. There was so much that I wanted to say but I just didn't know how to articulate my words.
Soon we arrived at the hotel, and I let out a sigh of relief when I noticed that there weren't people outside waiting to take pictures.
I quickly rushed everyone inside and up to the suite that we were all staying in.
Demi and Joe couldn't keep their mouth closed but Miley and I remained quiet.
"This place is nice," Demi said as she walked around the hotel suite.
I let out a deep breath when we were finally behind closed doors—it was a breath that I didn't know I was even holding.
"Are Miley and I sharing a room?" Demi asked as she continued to walk around the suite.
"Yeah," I nodded.
"Joe, you can have the other room and I will crash on the couch," I said dropping my bags on the floor by the couch.
"You sure?" Joe asked studying me.
"Yeah," I nodded. I knew that I wasn't going to get much sleep anyways.
"Okay," he said with a shrug before turning away and walking in the extra room.
I plopped down on the couch and took a deep breath. I checked my twitter feed already knowing that there would be posts about our walk and posts about Selena and Abel.
It was strange that people felt the need to pull me into their relationship when I couldn't care less.
I quickly got off twitter before things got worse. My anger was already near the edge, if not dangling over it. I took a deep breath before throwing my phone on the cushion next to me and putting my feet up on the coffee table in front of me.
"Hey, you want to go get dinner?" Joe asked walking out of his room with new clothes on.
"No, I'm going to stay in and order room service," I said with a shrug.
Honestly, I did not enjoy going out that much. Especially when there was so much drama surrounding me. No matter where I go or how hard I try, the paps find me.
"Okay, I'm going to ask the girls what they want to do," Joe said walking down the hall into Miley and Demi's room.
"Justin, Demi and I are going to head out for a bit and get dinner. Do you want anything?" Joe asked with Demi walking behind him.
"Nah, I'm good," I said shaking my head. "Have fun," I said as they walked out of the room leaving Miley and me behind.
"Hey, Miley!" I yelled before standing to my feet and walking into her room.
"I'm going to order food. You want anything?" I asked.
Miley was laying on her bed with a blank face.
"What?" She asked snapping her head towards me.
"Want food?" I asked. It was evident that something was on her mind.
"Uh, sure," Miley nodded before sitting forward.
"What do you want to eat?" I asked.
A part of me wanted to ask if she was okay, but the other part of wasn't sure she would even tell me what was wrong, to begin with.
"A salad," she said standing up from the bed and walking into the bathroom.
I shrugged when she shut the door and went to order room service. I ordered myself a burger and Miley a salad. Once I hung up I heard the shower begin to run and I let out a sigh. I wasn't sure what was going on in Miley's head but I imagine that she just wants to be left alone for right now.
By the time the food arrived, the shower had stopped. I started eating my burger because I was so hungry, and my mind is still running wild.
"The food here?" Miley asked walking into the living room.
"Yeah," I said taking another big bite of my burger.
"I see you didn't wait," Miley said rolling her eyes before sitting down next to me on the couch.
"Sorry," I shrugged.
"Whatever," Miley said before digging into her salad.
"How's the salad?" I asked raising a brow and letting out a chuckle.
"Shut up," she said shaking her head.
"Just saying," I said laughing.
"There is nothing wrong with eating a salad," Miley said defending herself.
"Well, when you pass out from lack of actual protein don't say I never warned you," I said taking another bite of my burger.
"I won't pass out," Miley said shaking her head.
"Okay," I said laughing again.
"Whatever," Miley said rolling her eyes as she continued to eat her salad.
"Can I ask a question?" I asked grabbing her attention once more.
"You are going to anyways," Miley said locking eyes with me.
"Okay," I said rolling my eyes.
"How come you don't seem bothered by what they said about you? I mean, doesn't it bother you?" I asked watching her closely.
"People will say whatever they want, and most of the time they are only saying that shit to get a rise, to get a reaction. Why should I give them what they want? Why should I play into their game?" Miley asked looking deep into my eyes.
"So, it doesn't bother you that they say such shitty things about you?" I asked trying to understand how she could act so unbothered.
"Sometimes, tonight was shitty and some of what they said did hurt, but this is my life and I don't have to justify my actions." Miley shrugged.
"I wish I could have that kind of personality," I said looking back at my burger.
"I didn't grow it overnight," Miley said. "Not to mention that I have been in this business longer than you have." She said.
"Anyways, I think I am going to head to bed," Miley said standing to her feet.
"Goodnight," I called out as she left the room.
"Night," she called back before shutting her door.
