Chapter 17: Serah

How I imagine the guys' marks ^^

Shane and Cara are mates... Well shit.

Iz walks over to see what I'm on about and gasps when she sees the glowing silver marks. "Well shit," she mumbles. It is scary how alike we are sometimes.

"Will someone explain what the hell is going on?" Cara exclaims, taking Shane's hand off of her and turning to face me.

"Shane is your freaking mate," I say, barely above a whisper. Of course he is! Just my luck that as soon as I have the courage to kick him out of my life, I find out he is the mate of one of my pack members.

Cara spins around to face Shane with a shocked look on her face that he is mirroring. "You are my what?!" She shouts.

"Holy fucking shit!" Shane exclaims. "All this time I was in love with Serah and my mate was right there!" He takes his hand off of Cara's back and pulls her into an embrace. He looks so happy, but then gets this dark look on his face and growls. "Are you still with Jasper? You smell like him."

She probably still smells like him from yesterday before we found out Iz and Jas were mates. Iz stiffens and snarls "No! Jas is mine." Her eyes glowing showing that her wolf is not happy in the slightest at the suggestion of Cara being with Jas.

Jas walks over to her and puts an arm around her. She visibly relaxes from his touch. "It's okay Iz, I'm all yours now." His eyes start glowing as well, showing that his wolf agrees with his statement. Iz smiles and snuggles into his side, wrapping her arms around his torso.

"Well, with that settled, Serah can I join your pack to be with Cara?" Shane questions.

"Oh hell no!" Iz and I exclaim at the same time. We smile at each other and then I say, "why don't you run back to your daddy's pack? I'm pretty sure he wouldn't want you to become part of my pack. In fact, he'd probably order you not to. You are pretty good at following orders if I remember right."

"But Serah, I'm third female in your pack, not just some random member. I love you guys, you are my family. I want to stay. Please let us stay." Cara pleads.

I don't know what to say to that. She is my family and I want her to be happy but at the same time this is Shane. I don't know if I can handle having him around everyday after what he did to me.

-----------------Flashback------------------
I take Shane's hand and pull him along with me to the garden. "Where are we going baby?" He asks with a smile, he loves surprises.

"I'm taking you to my favorite place in the world. No one knows about it except me, Jas, Iz, and now you."

"Well I'm glad you trust me" he says with a look on his face that I can't seem to read.

We get to the garden and walk around the stone wall at the entrance. He looks around at the roses, lilies, and orchids that I meticulously placed in their spots in front of the neatly trimmed bushes. This garden is like my baby, I planted all of the bushes and flowers.

"This is amazing Ser," Shane breathes.

"It was my dad's and when he left I started working on it by myself."

"We never really talk about your dad... When did he leave?"

"Right before Leah was born. He had basically been cheating on my mom since before I was born with his true mate but he didn't want to leave because of  Jas." I explain.

"Wow that sucks, I'm sorry baby."

"I know that I can't really be mad at him because the woman he went to was his true mate, but he did leave. He ruined my mom by cheating on her for that long, she had no idea. She still won't even think about being with another man and it's been over ten years."

"I'm sorry that your dad left like that baby." Shane says, pulling on my hand, brining me closer to him and hugging me. When he pulls back from the hug he kisses me, which I immediately return. Our lips move together in synch and he brushes his tongue across my lower lip, asking for access which I eagerly grant him.

He grabs my hips, pulling me closer to him. I snake my arms around his neck and entangle my hands in is dark hair. I feel him walk me backwards until my back hits the tall wall behind me. We kiss in a frenzy. We've never kissed like this before, it is amazing. I want to take the next step with him.

His hands reach for the hem of my shirt and pull it over my head. I do the same with his shirt. When I do my hand brushes something hard on his back. I pull away from the kiss and ask, "What is that?"

His face contorts in pain and he says, "I'm sorry Serah." Before pulling it out from behind his back where it was tucked in his pants. My eyes widen when I see that it is a long jagged dagger. He plunges it into my stomach and drags it. As he does he is crying and repeating over and over "I'm sorry, I have to."

He pulls the dagger out and runs back the way we came. I slump down against the wall, trying to press my hands against the gash but failing because my hands were too small to cover it. Crying out in pain when I press my hands to it. I don't know how long I was there bleeding out without a shirt on before I pass out.

I snap out of my memory when Eli touches my arm, giving me a worried glance and waiting for my response.

"I was going to give my virginity to you! And you tried to kill me! You want me to let you be around me everyday?!" I exclaim. Cara flinches and starts to move away from Shane, torn over whether to stay with her mate or leave because of what he did to her alpha.

I see this and feel awful that she would have to choose. I don't want to be the reason that she is unhappy. So I sigh and say, "I swear to God if you hurt Cara you will not live to see the next day." I tell Shane, giving him the okay.

Shane looks offended by the suggestion of him hurting Cara and says, "I would never. Thank you so much Serah, you won't regret it."

"I'm pretty sure I will," I mumble, too low for him or Cara to hear but Eli does and frowns.

Cara smiles at me and takes Shane's hand and pulls him towards her room where I guess he will be staying. Eli wraps his arm around my shoulders and says, "you are so strong, I am so lucky, but you didn't have to do that." I open my mouth to say that I did but he cuts me off before I can saying, "I know she is like family to you but after what he did he doesn't deserve your kindness."

"I have to be the bigger person Eli. If I don't then I will never be able to move past what happened. Thank you for caring though." I say before I stand on my tip toes and kiss him.

"Always."
