The story behind La Carcacha
•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•°•Interviewer: Selena can you tell us the story behind your song "La Carcacha" and what inspired you to write it?
Me: Well we were in Eagle Pass on the bus, chilling out before our performance. There was a friend of mine that used to hang out with us when we would go to Eagle Pass. Her name was Patsy. She was very loud and very rambunctious. Some couple showed up in their beat up car. She made a joke like, "They don't have money to fix their car but here they are at the dance. Mira la carcacha en que vienen." A.B. asked me, What's a carcacha?" I don't think he could even pronounce it. It's an old, beat up car. He said, "Let's write a song about that." I said, "Let's write something about a girl who's not materialistic. Her friends are laughing at her and making fun of her. She couldn't care less if her boyfriend has a beat up car." The most important thing, once again, is love. We tried to make the music sound like this old car's coming down the street.
