Emmett Cullen was sitting in the lounge, on the soft four person couch, his arm around Rosalies shoulder, show snuggled in closer to him. It was winter and it would be Christmas, this time next week. Carlisle and Esme were bringing the Christmas decorations and they would start preparing for the Christmas period.
Stow was already starting to cover the ground and tree tops all over the city, it was only a light dusting at the moment, but the worst was yet to come.
Carlisle trudged in with a firm grip on the freshly cut Christmas tree and brought it into the living area. He placed it into the corner, next to the plasma television. The weight of a huge tree didn't bother him, he didn't even realise it was heavy it was more like carrying a feather.
"I think I have everything brought it," he announced to the family, placing another box next to the tree. "Shall we decorate?"
Alice came rushing in, hand in hand with Jasper.
"I heard the word 'decorate' and I thought I would join the family for a festive activity." She flashed a killer watt smile at Jasper, who loosened her grip on her hand and sat on the arm of the couch.
Slipping an arm around her waist, Jasper pulled her closer and she perched herself on his knee.
"Alice, shouldn't we wait for the rest of the family?" Jasper said, smiling nervously, I was a dangerous thing disagreeing with Alice.
"I don't think they will mind." She replied knowingly. Of course, she could see that they wouldn't mind. Just one of the many perks in having someone who can tell the future in the family.
Rushing about the living room, Alice told the family they need a colour-scheme. Everyone continued to look at her, blank stares all around.
"Gee, no one takes this seriously these days!" She said, turning to my family. "This year we are doing... Silver and light blue!" She noticed the sceptical look on Rosalies face and giggle like a small child. "Rose, don't even bother I've seen your reaction and you'll love it!"
Alice jumped off of Jaspers knee and took his had, "Jaz, help me sort out the silver and blue ball-balls from the rest" She gave him a huge smile and towed him towards the box nearest the tree.
"Rosalie, want to help, or do you have better things to do?"
With a stone, fake laugh Rosalie replied. "Yes,Alice. As much as I love all this... Christmas joy, I'm going give it a miss. I'm going to hunt, anyone feel free to come. But if not enjoy the merry sprits, see you later guys." She gave Emmett a quick kiss on the cheek and walked towards the door.
"Hey guys, hows it going?" Jacob Black said jogging into the room.
"Hmmm, now I'm definitely leaving!" Rose said, voice dressed in acid.
"Jacooooob!" Alice yelled, jumping up hugging him tightly. A new relationship had grown there; ever since Renesmee had been born Alice had seemed to grow closer to him, being Bellas favourite sister, and Jake being Bellas daughters future husband.
"Hello Pixie, you decorating the tree I see!" He replied hugging her back.
"Yeah, Silver and Light blue ONLY" She squeeked then danced back to Jaspers side.
"I might help then, seeing and sleepless beauty has gone." Jacob chuckled. "Where's Bella? And Eddy? And Nessie?" he asked, not that he really cared where anyone was other than Nessie.
"I'll help too." Emmett replied. "So, how you doing dog?" He joked to Jacob. "Been chasing any cats recently?" Emmett winked at him.
"Arh, cats! What beautiful animals. No chasing though, I haven't ate any, sure you guys would know how they taste though!" Jake replied laughing and playfully nudging Emmetts shoulder.
"HEY! God, Jacob take that back! I like cats! they're loving and caring and loyal and happy and elegant and beautiful and perfect. They're just like my Jasper." she said leaning to Jasper and giving him a small peck on the cheek, "I love you baby"
"awww!" Emmett and the others chorused.
Without thinking about it, Emmett took at red ball-ball out and snuck it into his pocket. His plan was to place it on the tree later, to see what Alice thinks about it.
"Blue, silver, blue, silver, re- nope, we don't what that." Jasper muttered under his breath, all his concentration seemed to be on the ball-balls.
Unlike Jasper, Carlisle was paying attention to the scene around the Christmas tree. Rolling his eye, he pulled another box next to him and grabbed all the tinsel.
"I'm going to pin all the tinsel in-"
"NO! I has to be blue and silver! Oh and maybe white." Alice interrupted, not really paying attention still picking out ball-balls with Jasper.
"Okay, sorry Alice." He chuckled, "I'm going to pin all the tinsel around the room onto the walls."
Carlisle found a hammer and nails and started to pin the tinsel up.
"Um, Carlisle?" Emmett asked innocently.
Carlisle stopped climbing the step-ladder and turned towards him, "Yes Emmett?"
"Can I punch the tinsel into the wall?"
"Of course." He stepped down from the ladder and gave Emmett a wide birth as he punched the tinsel into the walls.
"Oh and Jake, cats aren't my type." Emmett replied, "I prefer-"
"BEARS!" everyone exclaimed in harmony.
"Predictable, predictable Emmett." Carlisle muttered.
Esme sat on the couch, "why, why, why must everyone have to find ways to terrorize the poor man?" she murmured, worried about Jacob.
"Darling? They're only playing." Carlisle walked over to sit in the arm chair near her. "Boys will be boys-" Alice coughed.
"Boy and Alice." He smiled apologetic at Alice. He took the newspaper from the coffee table.
"Seeing as you guys are taking every chore I might as well sit back, relax and read the daily paper."
