This is my first fanfic and I hope you enjoy it!
Mari stood in front of the mirror and gave herself a once over. Her eye's were puffy and sore, and the hair a matted mass at the side of her face. Sighing, she ran her brush through her hair, not caring when it sent pain through her scalp. She had a throbbing headache, and her throat was sore. Sighing yet again, she trudged to her bathroom, a worried kwami flying behind.
"Mari please" Tiki reasoned, "nothing happened to him, you saved him!" Mari paused in front of the mirror - make up brush in hand. "But, it could have killed him. You saw where his suit was torn. Right in front of his heart," Mari's eye's filled with tears again "he would have died!" Her voice rose to an anguished wail, her shoulders trembling with suppressed sobs.
Tiki flew over and hugged her cheek. "I know Mari. Come on now, its time to face the day." Mari sighed again (I swear, if i have to put her sighing again, I might as well name this chapter 'sigh's for days' ) an got changed. But even this exhausted her. It had been two days since she slept properly.
--* Time skip *--
At school:
Mari was tackled from behind by Alya "Heya gurl! How was your weekend?" Mari forced a smile and replied "Fine." Alya could sense that something was up, but decided that it was best left alone. "Cool.. Anyway, I got a great new scoop for the Ladyblog! So you know that akuma, Velvatine" Mari nodded "Well, that last pin she through would have killed Chat Noir"Mari felt sick "I got an intervew with him afterwards and- Hey Mari! Where are you going!?" Mari charged off, blinded by tears. She nearly knocked into Adrien, who dodged last minute. "Mari?" He called after her. She kept running.
"Wow Dudette, what's up with Mari?" Nino watched her leave with Adrien. "Thats the thing Nino, I dont know.." Alya looked very worried. "I mean I could see something was wrong, but.. running off just isnt like her."
The rest of the day went with out a problem. Mari acted as normally as she could, and focust on her work. However, 2 weeks later, it all fell apart..
Sorry for the cliffhanger! (Sorry not sorry) I hope you enjoyed this chapter of nightmares. The next day and already 5 views! (Yayyy!) :D Anyway, the next bit is already planned. In fact, it is the first bit I planned, which is where the idea of this story came from.
