I stepped outside my house. I looked around the beautiful streets. Bigg houses all around me. This street has always been so empty.

The sun was shining so bright I couldn't help but stop and lookup. Getting in every second of alone time. Taking one last breath before the day, one last breath before everything.

I saw Harry pulling up in my driveway just as I was about to pick up my phone. I got inside the car giving him a little smile. "Ready to play bitch?" He asked turning on the radio. I ignored him, Harry and I have known each other since kindergarten, he thinks I am the same girl. The one who doesn't cause trouble. Which works in my favor since he never blames me.

We soon after picked up Liam, he looked very tired. He stood in the middle of the road looking both ways like he was waiting for a bus.  "I told you I would pick you up" Harry shouted. Liam didn't answer he just got in the car.

When Harry had picked up all the boys I couldn't help but notice how they all were so tired.  "What did you guys do yesterday?" I asked taking out a small mirror from my bag. I made it seem like I was looking at my makeup when really I was looking at Shawn. He looked cute in white. Moments from yesterday kept coming by my mind. How he had kissed and laughed and talked for hours. How I had to jump out of his window because the boys came on a surprise visit.

"We were in Shawn's basement chilling" Liam answered from the window seat. I nodded. I knew what they were doing last night. I just wanted them to tell me.

I went hard on the "No dating anyone in the group" rule and now I'm stuck. I cant tell them me and Shawn are a thing.

When we arrived at school Shawn followed me to my locker. "Did you tell them?" I asked. He still looked really tired. I probably looked pissed. I didn't want to hurt Harry, just last summer he told me how he saw me. How to him I was the fresh air he needed. How I was his safe place.

"No, relax. No one is going to know" He said walking past me and inside the classroom. I rolled my eyes at his back. Jess came just a couple of seconds later. Her black long hair was always what kept my attention. Her aura was just peace. Everybody felt like all she wanted to do was help you out. "Is the new boy in or something?" She asked making this cringe face. She could be nice, but she didn't like people getting in the group.

For everyone, Jess and I were in the boy's group. The top of whatever, but me and Jess both knew we were outsiders. I had a crown only from whom looked from the outside.

"Harry likes him," I said walking with her to the classroom. Harry was at the top, I could be at the school top, but he was at our top. In my eyes that was much more important. Shawn was sitting in the front of the class while the rest of us sat in the back. The teacher started talking about this book we should read.

"Did you hear that we also got a new girl?" Harry whispered in my ear. I turned to look at him as he nodded. New girls in this school always meant trouble.

Our school has a legacy, we are known for being the best of the best. Riches kids in the city. Not a single kid from this school is going anywhere but good schools. Every girl that got here wanted to raise for the top.

The only problem is, I've been struggling to keep my crown and inside I feel like someday I will lose it. "I guess I'll have to give her some classes," I say going back to paying attention to the class.

"What would Blair do" I whispered to myself as I walked to my father's office. "Just in time," he said giving me a hug. My family is big in eating dinners together, we always do this when my dad gets a new wife. My dad is the principal and he renovated a room in the school to look like a dining room.

"Hey" I whispered to Liam as I sat next to him. Our new stepmother of the month sat in front of us. She looked so happy to finally be able to meet us. She couldn't be that old, she looked now a day over 25. Liam didn't look at her. Liam tried as hard as he could to not be involved in the family.

"Well you guys do know Gabriella," my father said gesturing for us to say something. "Yes, wife number 5," I said making Liam laugh. "Hope you last longer than Denice" I gave her a polite smile and started eating my food.

"Was it worth it?" Liam asked as he followed me back to class. "I really don't care," I said trying to walk faster than him. Liam always did this, he didn't get involved so I was alone, and then he would come and judge my decisions.

My father had just uninvited me to the family trip to Hawaii. "Why do you do This?" He asked now stopping. I could see the way he looked at me. Like I was nothing but a burden. He could love me because of who I was and what I stood for.

He wanted to have a sibling fight in the middle of the hallway. I could see it in his eyes, he doesn't see me, he sees daddy's girl. He sees designer purses and fake smiles and he believes it.

I turned around to look at him, he looked tired, stressed and he even smelled. "Why do you care?" I felt like shouting but I didn't. "You left home, you don't know how it feels to live in a house bigger than this entire city alone"

Those were my feelings and I was allowed to express them. "Have you ever asked how I'm doing?" He asked coming closer. "I can't even afford a piece of fruit" His face now red.

"I'm sorry" a voice distracted us both. We followed the sound to see a short curvy girl, she had brown hair and brown eyes and she looked uncomfortable where she stood.

"I'm Ari" she said. The new girl. I stood up straight pulling a smile that I really didn't have. This person is probably coming here to take my place. Just saw my weak link. Now she knows where to point her gun.

"Welcome," I said walking the other way.
