Lonely

Jihoon's pov

"Umfgh... "

I woke up this morning with a sound muffed by my pillow. So it was morning, a quite one fortunately.

Usually Soonyoung would be by my side but he sometimes likes to prepare breakfast before I wake up. He's such an adorable human, right?

I got up from my bed but I didn't see my boyfriend anywhere, so he must've been cooking something in the kitchen. I was very excited to see what he was preparing since he knew very well what I prefer eating in the morning.

I was hoping he would be cooking waffles with vanilla and cinnamon. I don't really like eating sweet dishes early, but I know he's putting a lot of effort and besides I love anything he does for me, even if others wouldn't. I love how he deeply cares for me and I sometimes feel bad because I'm not very good at expressing my emotions.

When we first started our relationship I was afraid he wouldn't like me because I thought that I couldn't be able to return his love as I wished to. But later on, he conforted me about it, saying that I don't need words to prove that I love him. And that's true; it made me feel very happy and relieved just by hearing these words come out from him.

As I entered the kitchen, I was very surprised to not see him. I could have swore he should've been there. I start searching in the whole apartment, but I didn't find him, not even in the bathroom.

He knows very well I don't like when he leaves without telling me. I always feel lonely when he is not by my side, and I don't really have anyone to keep me company when he's not around.

I started panicking. He never left without telling me anything. I thought he went either to get groceries or to practice the new choreo. I got my phone and I started typing Minghao's number, since he was the only friend of Soonyoung I knew, and it also happened to be one of his best friends. After a few rings, he picked up.

"Hello?"

"Hi Minghao! It's Soonyoung's boyfriend, Lee Jihoon"

"Oh, hi Jihoon hyung! Why did you call me?"

"Well... I was wondering if you knew where Soonyoung is? He left and I don't where to find him. Is he at the practice room?"

"No, he told us yesterday not to come. I don't think he's there alone though..."

After a short pause he spoke again:

"In the last couple of days he has been pretty distant from us. He kept looking in the void and when we asked him if something was wrong, he wouldn't tell us. Maybe he's having a hard time and wants to be alone for a while? I'm also concerned about him. What do you think, hyung?"

I stopped at his words and grew more and more anxious. He would always come to me first when problems overwhelmed him... I would be the one who listened and hold him tight when he was crying. Did I do something wrong? Was he maybe losing trust in me? What if-

"Umm... Jihoon are you there?" I heard Minghao speak quietly

"Oh yeah I'm sorry. I was just... Thinking."

"If you need some time alone I can just-"

"No Minghao, don't worry. I was just surprised that he didn't tell me anything... He would usually speak out to me when he's not feeling good. But I won't bother you anymore. I'll try looking for him outside as well and wait some time. No need to worry."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. I'll hang up now. Have a nice day!"

"Thanks, you too. Bye, hyung!"

I ended the call. What was I supposed to do now? Should I call him? Oh my God I should've done this in the first place, I'm such a dumbass.

I dialled Soonyoung's phone number next but... It only rang once and then it abrubtly ended. I tried calling him multiple times, but he wouldn't answer, so I started texting him

Am I insisting to much? Maybe I'm just overreacting. I should wait for him to come back home instead of bugging him so much.

I layed down on the sofa with my head thrown back. As I was looking at the ceiling I started thinking about how much my life has changed since I have Soonyoung. I used to be very blue, but when Soonyoung came with his flaming red aura, I became more and more warmer. Somehow I started melting for him as well. Only now I realise how independent I can be. I hope he comes back as soon as posibble.

Tiredness came over me and I fell into a long nap. When I woke up it was already 4 o'clock but I still couldn't feel Soonyoung's presence in my apartment. I needed to be more patient so I turned on the TV and watched whatever was airing at the moment. After a while I heard someone ring on my door. Was it Soonyoung? I got up fast and opened the door excitedly only to see Minghao on the doorstep. I'm pretty sure he saw my disappointed face but I invited him in anyway.

"Hello Jihoon! I'm sorry I came here out of the blue... Has Soonyoung returned home?"

"Unfortunately, no. I don't know where he is or what he might be doing, but I'm getting worried. He never left like this"

"Don't worry too much, hyung. I think he'll come back soon. He probably needs some time alone, you know?"

"Yeah, he wouldn't leave otherwise. Anyway, how are you doing?"

I invited him in the livingroom and let him take a seat on the armchair.

"Very nice! I will start college soon and I can't not be excited!"

He chuckled a little before continuing:

"You are a senior, right?"

"Yes, I am. I will be soon graduating."

"And what do you plan to do in the future?"

"Since I'm majoring in music, I would love to be a producer. I can't wait for me and Soonyoung to move in a bigger house! He's been promising me this since last year so he better not break it." I said the last part while putting on a big smile.

"What about you?"

"Well..." He paused a little "I'm not decided yet but I'd like to do something related to photography"

"That's really great! And how's you and Junhui doing?"

"We haven't been together for a long time yet but we're very hap- Oh look he's calling!"

He took his phone out of the pocket and left in the hallway. Shortly after he came back.

"I'm sorry hyung but I'll have to go now. Junhui's been feeling lonely without me." He said while rolling his eyes playfully.

"It's okay. We can talk soon. Go spend some time with your boyfriend too!"

"Will do!" He waved to me and left.

I closed the door and sighed looking into my empty apartment.

"I'm lonely without you too... "
