A Month of Miami, Not A Month Off

16: The Wifey is in Town

As everyone began to dig in on their meal, the phone began to ring.

" I'll get it," Rob volunteered. He picked up the phone and was happy to hear who he was on the phone with.

" Hi honey!" Rob greeted his wife on the phone.

" Will you look at that, Laura is on the phone!" Sally exclaimed.

" You wanna come to Miami? That's great! You should bring Rich along! I haven't seen him in weeks," Rob told Laura.

Everyone else was eavesdropping on Rob's phone conversation with Laura.

" He's sick and you're bringing him to the Helpers? Oh okay, let's just hope they don't get sick. OK, I'll see you there honey," Rob said as he hung up tje phone.

" That was your wife?" Rose asked.

" Yup, and she's coming to Miami!" Rob replied.

" For how long?" Blanche asked.

" For three days, then she'll leave and come back home. She's coming tomorrow night," Rob answered.

Rose nodded.

The next day.....

At the house, Blanche was cleaning the living room. Just then, Rose enters the living room.

" Blanche, what are you doing?" Rose asked.

" What does it look like I'm doing? I'm cleaning my own house, that's what I'm doing!" Blanche replied in annoyance.

" Why are you cleaning it? It's already clean," Rose asked.

" That is because if another young gorgeous woman from New York is coming to Miami," Blanche explained.

" You didn't clean the house when Sally came," Rose added.

" Well, I didn't know she was staying you nitwit!" Blanche continued.

The doorbell rang and Rose volunteered to open the door. When Rose opened the door, there was a tall lady who was a brunette with short bobbed hair wearing a beige blazer with a matching mini skirt with some back heels.

" Who are you?" Rose asked.

" Hi, I'm Laura Petrie. Rob Petrie's wife," Laura introduced.

" Oh, well I'm Rose Nylund. It's nice to meet you too," Rose replied.

" He's staying here right?" Laura asked.

Blanche then came to the door.

" Yes, he is. He's at work right now so you can't see him," Blanche answered in Rose's place.

" Hey, she asked me!" Rose yelled at Blanche.

" Shut up, Rose!" Blanche replied letting Laura in.

" So, which one of you owns the house?" Laura asked.

" I do! Oh, pardon me I forgot to introduce myself! I'm Blanche Devereaux," Blanche replied.

" Blanche Devereaux, you were the one that food poisoned Sally," Laura said.

" Oh, I apologized to her for that. We're friends now," Blanche told her as Laura let out a silent "oh" and nodded her head.

Dorothy then came home.

" Blanche, Rose! Do we have any-," Dorothy got cut off by looking at Laura. "You must be the wife Rob is talking about.
