Chapter 2: Waking Up

I woke up at René's to find her on her laptop. She was on Facebook delighting herself to her friends' posts.

"Hey, um, about last night. I'm sorry"

I say

"So long as you promise not to try anything like that again, I'll accept your apology" She says

"Anyways, Henry, what caused you to do that. I know you don't want to talk about, but it's just pondering my mind."

"Financial problems, and all of the assholes here in Boston."

"Hey!"

"Not you!"

She smiled, and I smiled back. She got up and tossed my phone to me.

"Drew texted you wondering where you were last night, and why you didn't go back to the dorm"

"I'll just tell him I crashed at a Hotel in the suburbs or something "socially acceptable" "

I text Drew. He replies almost instantly saying he got 40 person kill streak on Battlefield last night. I snicker.

"Hey um, are you free tonight?" I say

"No. I'm pretty pricey. Like the price of dinner."

"Looks to me like we must eat at the finest place in town. Let's go to O'Reilly's?"

"Haha, sure"

"Well, I gotta go and get dressed at my place. How about You and me at six?"

"Sure. Hey, wait a minute. Nice band reference!"

As I'm walking out of the door of her apartment, I yell at her saying "Just too fabulous!" And she dies laughing as the door closes
