Prompto stared at the last words on the page. Tears rolled down his cheeks and small sobs leaving him.

"I love you, so much, my son. My darling baby. My little Chocoboy."

"Mom... I... I love you, too." He hiccuped and continued to cry.

"Prompto? Are you here, honey?" He heard Noctis call from the other room. Prompto couldn't find his words, only continued to cry. Noctis walked in and saw Prompto crying.

Worried, the king ran to the side of his bride and pulled him in to his arms. Noctis began to hush and soothe him. Prompto sobbed on Noctis's shoulder.

"She was always... She was always there... even when I thought she wasn't... she was there." He sobbed. Noctis hushed him and he soothed him. Finally, Prompto stopped sobbing and Noctis gently wiped away his tears.

"Of course She was, Prompto. Your mother loved you. So much. Come on, baby. Don't cry. Dawn would want you to smile and be happy." He said. Prompto nodded and picked up the journal.

"She wrote all of this for me. So that I could know who she was and what she struggled with. I never knew some of these things. She was abandoned when she was five, fought in the back alley ring fights until she was seventeen until your dad took her out of it and put her in the Crownsguard. They were best friends." He said as tears rolled down his cheeks.

"She wanted you to know." Noctis said, wiping away his tears before they got on the page. Noctis kissed Prompto's cheek and then pecked a kiss to his lips.

"Your mother always looked out for you." He said.

"She really did." Prompto said with a smile.

"Hm? What's this?" Noctis asked and tugged on a loose page. The paper came out and Prompto realized it wasn't a loose page at all. It was a printed DNA test from the hospital.

Prompto looked at it and felt tears rise to his eyes again as he read it over. He started to laugh happily.

"Prompto? What is it?" Noctis asked.

"I am... I am! I really am!" He laughed. Noctis gave him a curious look.

"That stupid code print... that damn code print... it really is just a tattoo!" He laughed.

"Prompto?" Noctis asked.

"This is a DNA test that Mom had done when I was two. I am! I am a Lucian! I'm her biological son!" He laughed. Noctis' jaw dropped.

Noctis pulled Prompto in to a kiss. Prompto laughed happily. He felt as if a weight had been lifted from his heart. The thing he had been afraid of his whole life was only a lie. He was not a Niff. He was Lucian. Born and raised.

"I need to find him!" Prompto gasped.

"Who?" Noctis asked.

"My father! I want him to be at our wedding! I... I want him to..." Prompto started to cry.

"How about we finish packing up the things about your mom you want to keep? Then we can look for you Dad together." Noctis suggested. Prompto nodded. He placed the DNA test back in to the journal and laid it in to the box.

Time skip: Wedding day

Prompto looked in the mirror, adjusting his clothing. He was nervous. So nervous. He wore the necklace he gave to his mother for her birthday when he was three. He wore it now as a good luck charm. Just like her ribbon tied around his wrist.

He looked at the picture frames on the vanity table. It was the last picture he took of his mother. The one of her and King Regis. She was posing like she was some sort of rapper or pop singer. Standing next to her, King Regis had a bright grin on his face as he laughed at his old friend's pose for her son's camera.

"Only you would make your last picture look like this, Mom. I miss you. So much. But I know you're watching over me. I love you, Mama." He said with a smile.

There was a knock on the door.

"It's time, Mama. I'm going to tell him." Prompto said.

"Who is it?" He called.

"Cor." A voice answered through the door.

"Come in." Prompto called and sat in a chair in front of the vanity. The door opened and Cor stepped in.

"You asked to see me, your highness?" Cor asked. Prompto smiled.

"You don't need to call me that." He said.

"You are going to be coronated as the first male queen of Lucis immediately after this. What should I call you?" Cor asked. Prompto smiled.

"Some of mom's sarcasm really did rub off on you, didn't it?" He asked. Cor stared at him.

"A while ago, I went back to mom's house. To see if there was anything of hers I could save. Something for me to keep close and remember her by." He said. Cor said nothing, but watched.

"I gathered up all the pictures she had all over the house. And in her office.. she left a journal for me. A journal that held the story of her whole life. I felt like I really knew who she was after that." He said.

"She was... amazing. In ways you wouldn't believe." Cor sighed.

"There was something else in the journal." He said. Cor looked at him again. Prompto reached behind the last picture of his mother and King Regis. He stood up with a folded piece of paper in his hands.

"This was in the back of the journal. She had this done when I was two years old." He said and gave the paper to Cor. Cor opened the paper and read the contents. His face was unreadable as always.

"I asked you here now because... because I want my father to walk me down the isle." Prompto said. Tears filled Cor's eyes.

He tossed the paper to the side and hugged Prompto to his chest.

"After all this time... thirty years... I thought... I thought, for thirty years that I lost my son. I thought the baby I pulled from the Niflheim lab was just another abandoned infant... I had no idea... no idea that I kept my promise... that I brought my son home." He cried softly. Prompto hugged his father.

"Well, I'm here, Dad... I'm home... I'm right here." He said. Cor cried silently.

"I love you. So much... my son." Cor said.

"I love you, too, Dad." He said. There were three knocks on the door.

"Stop crying in there! It's time!" Alice called through the door. Prompto stepped away and smiled at Cor as he wiped his eyes.

"Will you walk me down the isle, Dad?" Prompto asked. Cor nodded.

"I will, son. Your mother would be so proud of you." He said. Prompto smiled. The two got in to their places.

The music played and Cor walked his son down the isle to the man Prompto would spend the rest of his life with.

Before Cor placed Prompto's hand in Noctis's, he kissed his son's head.

"I'm so proud of you, son." He said. Prompto smiled and let his father give him away.

"You big softy." Cor heard Dawn say in his head. Cor took his seat and watched his son marry the man he loved.

"You raised him well, Dawn. I love you, both of you." Cor thought as Noctis and Prompto exchanged their vows and put their rings on each other's fingers.

"By the power of the six Devines of Eos, I pronounce you husband and husband." Lunafreya said.

"Noctis, What are you waiting for? Kiss him!" She said with a smile. Noctis smiled and kissed his husband.
