I often wondered what it would be like to move but I never thought I'd move out right after high school, I certainly didn't think I'd move out just before my junior year. My mom got downsized so we had to leave. I had rarely been far from Iowa, where I had been born and raised. My mom, Annabel Miller, is an IT,so finding a job is somewhat easy for her. We moved to a small town called Lancing. The starting pay was way more than her old job but we still had to live in an apartment. It was a rather large three bedroom, two bath places. I was unpacking my large box of books when my mom walked in.
"Sweetheart, if you don't hurry you'll be late for your first day?" I was confused because my first day of school was in a week.
"Late for what?"
"For your first day of a new life." I smiled at her though there was no feeling behind it. I liked the idea of a new place, a different area and new adventures. The thing was I would miss my friends. Bailey and Georgie the most. Life kind of sucked without them.
(1 week later) *First day of School*
"Hi, My name is Melissa Miller, I'm new here in town and I'm completely lost." I told the secretary. She just sat at her desk staring at her finger nails which were a cliche red. After another minute she handed me a sheet I assumed was my class list. "Thanks" I walked down a hall way to see a bunch of beautiful girls standing around a smaller almost doll like girl.
"Why won't you convince your brother that he doesn't need a mate? I would be better for him anyway." A blonde said. Mate? I couldn't really see anyone since they were all facing away from me.
"I'm sorry Chrissy but Oliver is dead set on finding a mate." The doll girl had dark hair with bright brown/gold eyes. She looked afraid of these skinny bitches. Please. I rolled my eyes. The Chrissy chick shoved doll girl, who fell to the floor.
"HEY!" I screamed. All the girls turned to see the 5'4 over weight me stomping toward them. I finally saw the blonde girl. She was a model with a boney figure, high cheek bones and big eyes and lips. "Can you girls tell me where rue21 is?" They all looked shocked.
"Why?" one of the blondes goupies asked.
"Oh no reason, they're just having a back to school saile and I'd thought I'd..." All of the girls, excpet doll girl and me, left before I finished my sentence." Wow, that worked better than expeccted:. I really didn't think they wouuld ditch the first day of school to go shopping.
"Thanks, they're kind of terrifying." The doll girl is really pretty. Not like the Chrissy girl pretty, more of a secretive beauty.
"Hi, I'm Melissa, what's your name?" I asked as I put my hand out to help her up.
"I'm Amanda." She smiled at me. Awe she is so cute. Like a little kitten. I hugged her suddenly.
"That's it. You are my friend now."
"Okay." Amanda and I talked tille the morning bell rings. She points me in the right direction for my class. Amanda is a sophmore and I'm a junior so we had maybe one class together and that was choir. I walked into my history class and the classic boy preps were blocking my way to an empty seat. This one boy was tall, at least 6'1, with chestnut brown hair and brown eyes. He moved backward causing me to bump a stack of papers near by. The papers flew around, all over the floor. Everyone laughed at me. I didn't care though. I turned to stare at the boy. Right in the eyes. His brown eyes, which looked familiar, stared back at me in disbelief. I smiled at him. Than I pushed him. Everyone in the room gasped like on one of those tv shows. I may be a lot shorter, but I'm fat enough that I can pack a serious punch or push, when necessary. I then bent down to pickup the papers on the floor. I stood up as the preps were helping tall boy up. All eyes were staring at me in shock, even the teacher. I spoke to try and relieve some of the tense air.
"Hello. My name is Melissa Miller. I just moved to Lancing with my mom. I look forward to learning with all of you. I turned to address the tall boy. "I'm sorry I pushed you down but you did push me first so now we are even." I extended my hand to him and slowly he took it. We shook a couple of times and ten released. I took a seat and waited for the teacher to start. It was at that moment that I caught my breath. Not only was Mr. Tall boy the cutest person I have ever seen, when he smiled at me my heart nearly stopped. Oh well, I'll blush when I get home. I went to grab a pencil out of my bag on the floor when I noticed Mr. Tall staring at me. Weird but adorable.
