Part IV : Farewell

The male never knew how would it feel to be loved. How it would feel to fall in love with someone. How protective someone could become. How someone could lose their sanity because of those four words.

For the first time, he thought he actually knew love. He has actually found his other half. The one that could fill his emptiness that he felt for those passed years.

But is it truly love? Did she really love him? He didn't know. He was blind for love. He was blind about the consequences that might happen to love her.

He didn't care.

Until the signs has slowly appeared.

She became distant. Did he hurt her? Did he break her? Did he betrayed her?

His heart was crushed by those waves of thoughts.

He kept on apologizing to her. He kept on trying to steal her attention back.

But she just looked at him with eyes filled with many worries and sorrows.

He was confused. Why is she looking at him that way? What is it that made her worry? What is it that made her sad?

He is willing to do anything for her. He is willing to give up everything for her.

As long as he could stay forever with her.

But she pushed him away.

Even when they had promised to be together for eternity and woke up to each other faces.

Those memories, those moments when he woke up to her grinning widely and her bed hair. The words of love that they both murmered.

Why did she chose to do this?

He couldn't handle being in the shadow. So, he search for the reasons why she was acting that way.

He didn't sleep, he didn't rest, he didn't eat. Until he finally passed out.

"You're my sun."

He woke up to the rays of sunshine came in through the window beside him. His mind was blank. His whole body was sore. Until the faces of the RFA came to his sight.

They were shocked and delighted to see that he has awake.

He was being bombarded by many questions. But he didn't listen to any of them. He finally realized that he was in an unknown room. Bouquets of flower filled the small desk beside him. The sound of the machine beeping stating that his heart was beating normally.

Then he realized that something is wrong. Someone was missing. He panicked. He was horrified.

He grabbed the black haired guy in suit in front of him and asked about her whereabouts.

The RFA then shared a look that he don't understand. They're all making a 'sorry' expression. As if the answer to his question will break him apart.

"She has long gone. MC has long gone from this world. It has been 5 months. We have told you countless of time but you didn't believe-"

All of a sudden, the voices became faint. His brain is slowly processing the words. He recalled vividly about the memories of her. He remembered talking to her a few days ago. That left him frustrated. Why are they bluffing him about MC's death?

He was in an unstable state. He was nervous. He was terrified. His heart was beating so fast that it might explode in any second.

He jumped off his bed. He wanted to look for her. But his legs betrayed him. He couldn't walk. So he crawled until he was out of the room.

"I'll find you."

He saw a silhouette of the brown haired girl in front of him.

She was as gorgeous as ever. She was wearing a long white dress which brings out her beauty more. She smiled at him. Which caused him to fall in love with her all over again.

He wanted to go to her but she stopped him. Ironically, she walked towards him and hugs him tightly. Tears have slowly escaped her hazel brown eyes.

"You need to forget about me. You have to live your life without me. I'm sorry for leaving you alone when we had promised to stay together. So please move on. I love you."

His heart was shattered to pieces.

It was true. She has really gone from this world. But how could he forget her? When it all felt so real. The hug, the tears that fall wetting his shirt. How?

He was paralyzed by that event, by that truth. He screamed but there was no sound. He shouted her name but she was no longer there.

Until he was pulled into a hole filled with flashes of memories. The memories when they both were childishly playing around at the park. The kiss. The feeling of her plump sweet lips on his lips gently caressing each other. The intimate feeling between them. The night he proposed to her. Slowly fading away.

He falls deeper and deeper into the hole until it became awfully dark.

He woke up again to the rays of sunshine but it was no longer the faces of RFA, but instead he was being surrounded by a group of man in white coats.

"How do you feel?"

One of the men in white asked him.

"I feel better."

A smile flashed onto their faces along with sighs of relief escaped their lips.

"Do you remember what happened and who you are?"

"Of course i do. I am Saeyoung and i was drowned in the sea near my home because i was pulled in by the waves."

"Ah, and i met a really beautiful mermaid." He adds causing all of them to laughed.

"That's very good. It seems like you're getting better since you're able to joke around."

"Well, do you have someone in mind that you wanted to see?"

A weak smile was formed on his face. He shakes his head.

"None at the moment. I just wanted to rest for a bit. "

"I see. Then press that button if you need anything. We hope that you'll get better soon. Excuse us."

Those men left Saeyoung alone in his room to get some rest and meet up with the black haired man outside the room.

"It seems like your friend have completely forgotten about her. The treatment has worked."

"But, is it okay to do this to him?"

The black haired man just nod his head instead of answering them as a hint that they could leave now.

He looks through the window on the door to Saeyoung's room and sighed with sorry filled his eyes.

"Forgive me for doing this but this is the only thing that i can do so that you won't hurt any longer. You will no longer remember anything about her."

He turned on his heels and walks away.

"I'm sorry."
