I looked around the suburban town. Every house looked the same on my street and this is no joke, I’ve actually never been serious about anything in my whole life.  The red brick walls were making me sick to my stomach. We were walking around heading to my house to study, Joey and I. We both hated this town so much, the people, the rules, even the kids here were boring. I think me and Joey were the only ones who actually like to have fun and learn about life in this bland town of Autryville, North Carolina population 200, and I’m not even kidding look it up this was the town where everybody wore one piece bathing suits, and tanning was considered whoreish. “So what are we going to do when we get to your house?” Joey asked pushing me against a tree; I pushed him away from me. We could get shunned if we were being seen like this. I admired his face for a moment; he had perfect green eyes, brown hair that everybody loved, and his body….was excellent.  The problem was we had to dress preservative and that means Joey had to dress all nerdy, and act like it to which was a big turn off.

“First we’re going to take those glasses off, and then the sweater vest.” I scoffed picking at the ugly sweater vest he had on.

“Hey my mom picked this out! She said it looked very fitting on me.” He laughed. I just rolled my eyes at him. I opened the door to my house and was greeted by both my parents reading the newspaper. Of course what else were we supposed to do, we had no TV because the town banned them. ‘We don’t need the outside world corrupting our children’ quote unquote.  I kissed m y mom on the forehead and then my dad right after.

“We’re going to study in my room.” I said pulling Joey up with me. His lips connected with mine as soon as I shut the door to my room. I lips moved in sync and his hand went to the small of my back as he gently put me down on the bed. I flipped over and start gyrate my hips, grinding against him. We both pulled away, heavily breathing.  We both sat up, we’ve never  gone farther then making out. Just for a couple of seconds cause we always had studying to do. Joey gave me one more peck on my lips before going over to my laptop. We sat there in silence for a while, before he spoke up again.

“Hey has your brother sent you any more stuff, you know about Kim Kardashian, and all those other celebrities?” He asked.

“He hasn’t recently they should be coming in this weekend.” I said writing down more notes in my notebook it was quiet for a few more seconds. “What are we?” I asked him.

He looked at me with confusion crossed all over his face. “What do you mean?” He asked going back to checking his email.

“We make out but aren’t dating so what’s it called?” I asked.

“I believe the rest of the world calls it friends with benefits. It’s just a friend you do things with but don’t want it to go any further.” He shrugged as he said it. “I think it’s better then what everybody else has going on here.” He chuckled and I chuckled with him.

“True you only get to date one person, kiss one person, and have relations with one person and that’s the person you decide to get married with.” I rolled my eyes at the stupid rule. “How are you going to know who you want to marry if you only get one person?” Now Joey wasn’t even paying attention to me, now I’m just talking to myself.

“Hey come check this out.” He said calling me over to his side. I looked at a page that was about some place called Dream High Valley.

“Okay?” I looked at him questioningly

“Just keep reading.”
