When he woke up that morning, his heart felt heavy. As his senses came back, the realization that the bed was empty, that no one was there no more, let his heart to fall one more step towards the pit.
At least he was familiar with that pit. It wasn't his first trip there. But somehow, right at that moment, it felt as if that pit has changed, has gotten darker, colder and so, so much lonelier.
Maybe once you see the light, dark becomes darker.
He sat up in his bed, his back aching, his hair a mess and something at the back of his neck stinging, like an uncomfortable mosquito bite.
"What did I even let him do to me last night...?" He said to himself, not expecting an answer. But maybe answers do come to those who ask.
"I'm sorry but I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one doing things." A voice came from the hallway, as a silhouette appeared by the door.
Broad shoulders, well defined body, a face that almost seemed carved in stone; he seemed like something bright, maybe too bright to see in the morning. A few drops of water fell from his auburn hair to his shoulders, as a towel wrapped tightly around his waist.
