Night growled as hands shook her. They continued and continued saying her name followed with shakes. Night finally opened her sleepy eyes to she her friend all blurry due to her morning eyes not fully awake yet.

"Finally Moon! C'mon! There's a surprise waiting for us!"

"Us? Who from?" She asked, rubbing her eyes as she slipped out of  bed. She grabbed a nearby brush and started brushing her short black hair with red tips. Her red eyes danced around the room, moving a lot as to wake up.

"Ms.Partridge of course! Now c'mon lazy butt! We haven't all day!" Night set the brush back onto the side table and sighed as she followed Katelyn out of their room and downstairs to the orphanages lobby. She was an orphan. After her father died in a flood after a bad storm, her mother had fallen ill from the cold water but it was badly ill. They were gone and all Night could do was stick around her sister relishing the time spent with her. She gasped softly at the sight that welcomed her and her friend at the bottom of the steps.

"Night Moon Lavece and Katelyn Har Jay, meet your new family!" Ms. Partridge exclaimed obviously happy that two children of hers were getting adopted. Although, there was a tinge of sadness in her tone as if she was going to miss the two young girls. Ms.Lavece and Ms.Jay looked at each other and squealed. This meant they'd be real sisters soon! Hurray!

The older looking women stepped forward, "Mari Haes as your adoptive mother, young Night and Katelyn." Then it was the man standing next to her.

"Charles Haes as your adoptive father, dear daughters." Night winced, not realizing before how uncomfortable she felt with replacing her parents. She frowned nervously switching glances with Katelyn. Katy was obviously uncomfortable as well but the two didn't speak of their discomfort.

"Nice to meet you two! Katelyn Jay- Haes? Anyway. My name is Katelyn." She faked a smile she had mastered a long time ago, though, in her voice was a hint of sorrow. She was longing for her real parents that had died in the same flood as her friend's. Night was the same way, though, she didn't smile as she introduced herself. She simply ceased the frown.

"Pleasure to meet you. I'm Night."

"Such interesting names! I'll be glad to call you mine." Said Mrs. Marie Haes. Ms.Partridge could sense the tension between the young girls as she quickly tried to break it.

"So girls! Your bags and things are already packed, if you want to say goodbye to the other children that's fine. Otherwise, The Haes are ready to take you two." Katy and Moon looked at each other knowing they never really were social with anyone else at the orphanage. Katy's blue eyes spoke an unverbal language with Night's red.

"We're ready." They said in unison. The two girls' stuff was already in the car and they slid in after saying their goodbyes to Ms. Partridge. They had no one to say goodbye to as they didn't wish to make friends with anyone else.

"Are you two excited?" The first question came from Mari. Of course they had to say yes or else they'd be disappointed- their new parents of course.

"How long have you been orphans?" Charles asked. Katy and Moon had to look at each other as they thought. Good question.

"What year is it?" Night asked the Haes'.

"2005."

"Born 1998, accident was 2001...." Moon muttered under her breath before speaking up so the couple could hear her, "4 years." Katelyn nodded. A long four years it seemed.

"How's your education?" Mrs. Haes questioned. This felt like an interview.

"Went to 1st and 2nd grade and was homeschooled for 3rd." Katy stated. The two kept having to think as if they'd forgetton. Not saying they haven't but... it hasn't been that long, has it?

"I was homeschooled all the way through 3rd." Moon was different. She was smarter than Katy as her mother had made sure she got her education.

"Have you lived in Teliop your whole life?" The girls nodded. Suddenly, the car came to a halt. Night didn't want to admit it but she was scared of cars. They stuck out in the midths of this old-timey town. Charles and Mari got out first and helped out the children. The house was two stories with darkish red brick with a creme painted oak scheme.

"Now, you have a sister..." Mari began as she opened the white oak door. Ms. Jay and Ms. Lavece stepped forward remembering they weren't who they were before, they're now Haes'. The first thing Night noticed when she entered the house was the human sitting at the table. They were alert before realizing Mrs. and Mr. Haes were human. She had long blue hair that faded to purple and her eyes were dark blue, matching her mother.

Charles had kindness eyes which ment they were green while his hair was black. Back to the girl. She sported a grey and blue sweatshirt with tight jeans and checkered tennis shoes. Around her neck was a velvet chocked that had a blue jem that matched her eyes on the middle. Tiny diamonds speckled the area around the one big crystal. The crystal was similar to Moon's red crystal that was tied to a chain bracelet. The new girl was colouring and looked up from her project with a smile but it faded at the two monsters.

"Who are they?" Her voice was light but Moon already knew she wasn't going to like her. She had a bit of a rude tone to her voice.

"Your new sisters. Say hello!" Charles announced while stepping back so they were more visible.

"Night Moon Lave- Haes. Night Moon Haes." That name felt odd on her tongue.

"Katelyn Harper Haes." Her H in her Haes sounded weird because it was a mix of a J and H. She would have to say the same if Night had spoken aloud. Night and Ketlyn were rewarded with a scoff from the girl.

"The name's Lily." She grumbled before turning away. Her parents rolled their eyes and gave the Hybrids a tour of their new home. There were two rooms open but Moon and Katy insisted on sharing.

"Now, you'll be going to public school for awhile as me and your father-" Night felt uncomfortable, again, at the thought of replacing her family, "-have work. You'll be going with Lily into 9th grade. Can you do that?" The older Lavece felt awkward going into public but Jay was cool with it. She'd have done it enough times in the past to do it again, on the other hand, Night had never stepped foot on public school grounds. Still, the two nodded. The next day was planned out. Shopping and fixing up rooms. Fun.

Here we go! Starting anew and, as you can see, Night isn't all that bad of a person(?) but yeah and how do you guys feel about 1) Katelyn being a cat named Jay(a type of bird) 2) The character switch, I mean, Lily's rudeeee! And 3) Katelyn being a main character? Katelyn plays a bigger part than she did in Dead Star and btw, I'm gonna need someone to make a good cover for The Glitch. I can't draw for crap and I'd like a realistic cover. Photoshop is okay and I'd suggest it I just.... don't have it and don't know how to work it. Anyway, I hope you guys will stick around. Byeeeee! -Star
