“Welcome to Camp oak!’’ a way-too perky woman said. “we are very glad to have you all here!’’ she continued.

They kept talking but I zoned it out. Like most of the time. Im pretty sure it wasn’t important anyways. Groups soon got together for activities. We were put in a group of four. Two councelors and two campers.

“Liz Brown?” a male voice said. My head popped up. “that’s me!’’ I yelled, a boy was walking towards me. He had light brown hair and was average height.  I knew he was a counselor.   “ah, Liz. I will be one of the councelors doing activities with you. Follow me.” He said. I did as I was told.

“I never got your name?” I asked. “oh, im Hunter.” He said, smiling. I followed him and he stopped. I examined the other two in my group. There was a boy, about my age, he was very attractive and slightly tall. And there was a girl. I assumed she was another councelor. “hi, im Amy.” The girl said.

She had long blonde hair, it was into a perfect ponytail. she was really pretty. she had blue eyes and she seemed very happy.

she probably looked much  better than me. i had brown hair, it was long but not amazing. i surprisingly had blue eyes. I was tan but not too dark. my hair was in a ponytail, but not as perfect as Amy's.

“hi amy.” I said, shaking her hand.

My attention was drawn to the boy. He had brown eyes and brown hair. He had perfect tan skin and seemed a bit shy. “im Liz,” I said, extending my arm. The boy shook my hand and gave me a small smile. “Hayes." He said. “okay, lets get to the first activity, uhh, hiking!” hunter said, examining a sheet of paper. “does anyone need to change?”  Amy asked. I looked at what I was wearing. I had light jean shorts on and a white shirt.for shoes I had hiking boots. Seems relevant. “I don’t.” I said, Hayes repeated what I said and we were off.

--

The four of us walked down a trail, we all got to know eachother well.

Hayes is from North Carolina but moved to Texas due to family and work.

Hunter has lived in Oklahoma his whole life and this is his third year being a counselor.

Amy is from California but she moved here. she didnt say anything but I think she and hunter are dating.

we came along a stream of water. if you crossed it, it lead up a mountain. it said for us to not go up there but, we wanted to see how big the hill is. you can't just not explore new places.

°°°°°

"Did anybody bring water?" Amy asked.

"I do!" I exlaimed. I grabbed my blue water bottle out of my hiking pack. I handed it to Amy then went back to where I was walking.

"Guys look, it's the top of the hill ; right there." Hayes said, pointing straight in front of us.

we all walked faster. faster. and soon we were at the top of the forbidden hill.

the veiw was beautiful. you could see the whole countryside on this hill.

we stared in silence for about three minutes when it was broken by what sounded like screams and one gunshot.

"W-What was that?" I asked Hunter.

"I dont know. im going to go down and check. Amy, stay up here with them. if I dont come back in twenty minutes, look for me." Hunter said. I know he was trying to act heroic and all but, seriously?! he could die!

"are you sure you're okay going by yourself?" Hayes asked. Hunter nodded in return. soon enough,  he was gone. out of sight.

the three of us sat on a rock, overlooking the mountains.

I noticed a small figure moving closer. I squinted my eyes and saw a human shape. it didnt walk like a human. it had a heavy limp. the body was lopsided and the head hung low.

it got closer and I could study its face. it wasnt human. it was discussing. it had blood all over it. it wore ripped clothing and let out a small groan.

"Guys.. take a look at this.."I said. I pointed to the human figure and both Hayes and Amy observed.

"The hell is that?" Hayes mumbled. I shook my head in confusion.

it got closer. and closer. it was soon a few yards away. it limped, and groaned, it wasnt human.

"Guys we need to go." Amy said.

we gathered our things and ran down the hill. I didnt want to know what I saw, it was not human.

many thoughts raced through my head but they stopped when everybody else stopped. I looked up and saw Hunter. his face was red and he was panting like crazy.

"Hunter are you okay!" Amy said, embracing him in a hug. she soon let go when she noticed him wincing in pain.

"I know what those things are. One bit me." Hunter said,  lifting up his sleeve. his arm revealed a bite that looked almost like a human bite. his arm was bloody, bruised and infected.

Then it hit me.

We are dealing with the undead.
