Chapter 9 - Fall of the Blood Moon Clan

Two groups of wolves stood face to face about to kill each other. One side had Ian, Cole, Caleb, and Jaden; while the other side had Will, Jackson, Chad, and Jack. I quickly ran over to split up the fight.

"What in the world do you think you're doing? Where's Riley?"

Chad looked over at me, "Riley's gone missing, and these bozos think we shouldn't go look for him!"

"Well, it would be better losing one clan member rather than losing most of us!" Ian yelled at Chad.

"Stop fighting! I don't know where Riley is, but we need to look after each clan member, not just the majority of us", I snarl at all of them.

"Well, you haven't looked after me! I'm the Omega now because of you!" Cole yelled at me.

"Shut it! That was your own fault for becoming the Omega!" I snap back at him," If you would do something productive, rather than just talking and sleeping, you wouldn't be Omega. I would've accepted it if you weren't so lazy. You're lucky I haven't kicked you out yet, I didn't even understand why Franky even put up with you as Psi; you didn't even try for Alpha if I recollect!" I felt my anger begin to build up and I also had the feeling my eyes were changing, so I started to try and relax before everything got out of hand.

"Well maybe he wouldn't have become the Omega if it weren't for the fact that his Alpha hasn't even been here that much since he became Alpha", Jaden says to me annoyingly.

"Fine! Since we're all tense, you all stay over there, and we stay over here", I say angrily while drawing a line in the dirt with my paw.

Ian, Cole, Caleb, and Jaden all walk away to their side while glancing back angrily at us. I give a look at the others that say for them to get back to their posts. I quickly stop Jack for a second.

"Where's Ben?"

"Uh... dead?" Jack responds with a confused look on his face.
"No! The other Ben", I quickly say to correct myself.

"Oh! I'll get him for you", Jack says before he runs off.

I go look in Riley's den to see if he was actually in there the whole time. It didn't look like anything had moved since I left, so I walked out. The younger Ben then walks up to me.

"Uh, Jack said you needed me, Drake?"

"Yes, since you're the Delta, your job is to be a messenger between Cole's group and I; alright?"

"Sure, I guess, but can you fill me in on why?"

"An argument erupted between me and few of us because our Mu has gone missing; could you also go find Connor?"

"Sure thing", Ben says while walking away in some random direction, unconcerned about what I just told him.

As I waited, my mind started to wander and think about Riley and I's history; all that came to mind was Riley's eyes and the history of them changing color. I thought that it was weird that both Riley and I had eyes that would change color; I didn't think we were related, but I'm not sure now. After all the members of my old clan died or left, I was the only one left. The first wolves I met after that were Franky and Riley. They had similar incidents, so they were going to make their own clan; I decided to join them. We eventually met everyone else and formed the Blood Moon Clan. We had a great tournament to see what positions everyone would become; I beat everyone who fought except Franky, so I became the Beta.

I then tried to think of where Riley would go. The UCF wasn't meeting again anytime soon, so the only other place I could think of was his den. Riley usually stayed inside his den most of the day, though he would come out and wander around the base; either that or he had to do his actual job and split up disputes. All of a sudden, I remembered something that Riley would sometimes do when Franky was Alpha; he would go all the way to the Peace Rock and meditate, but that was all the way at the edge of our territory, near Ocean's Sun Clan. My thinking was interrupted by Ben.

"Hey, I found Connor."

"Good, would you go find Will as well", I ask him.

"Okie dokie then", Ben says as he walks off again.

"Connor, I'm going to need you to come with me to Ocean's Sun's territory."

"Why? Ben is the Delta, isn't that his job?" Connor asks.

"Yes, but he'll be busy here, so you're my next best bet; besides, I didn't intend to talk with them, so I need a spy "cough" Upsilon "cough."

Connor frowned and decided to agree to come with me. Ben then came back with Will.

"Will, keep an eye on the clan to make sure they don't tear each other apart and make sure Ben does his job; I think I know where Riley is", I say to him.

"Ok, Drake; hey maggots, I'm in charge for now again!" Will yells at the others.

Drake and Connor quickly leave as Cole and the other rebels stare at them from a distance. The two speedily go across their territory while watching out for any invading wolves. We eventually got tired and decided to rest near a bush with lots of shade. We were resting until something popped out of the bushes.

"Jerrad?!" I asked, startled that he was here.

He had many scratches and bruises all over him, and he didn't seem to notice me and Connor at first.

"Huh? Drake! I'm so glad to see you!" Jerrad yelled happily, but with a hint of sadness and desperation.

"Where have you been Jerrad? Everyone's looking for Riley", I explain to him.

"Yeah, I went to Peace Rock to look for him, and I found him, but those evil scum from the Ocean's Sun Clan kidnapped him; they almost got me too", Jerrad said quickly and desperately.

"Why would they kidnap Riley?" Connor asks.

"I don't know; those despicable canines are probably cannibals or something", Jerrad replies.

"Eh, I wouldn't put it past them, but I don't think they're cannibals; they must want him for some other reason", I say to them.

"Maybe to get back at you for beating Asher in a fight?" Jerrad asks.

"Maybe", I say.

I help Jerrad up and go back to base, while Connor goes by himself to spy on the Ocean's Sun Clan. Luckily, Ben and Will had done their job and no further fights had broken out. Right as I let out a sigh of relief, everyone started running over to see two wolves fighting. I quickly dropped Jerrad off by Rhianna's den and ran over to break up the fighting. It was Chad and Cole fighting, or more like Cole getting beat up by Chad.

"Knock it off you two! What happened here!" I yelled angrily at the both of them.

They quickly separated as everyone else watched.

"I caught this idiot crossing the line you made for them", Chad replied.

"What were you doing here Cole?" I asked.

"I-I was hungry, and we didn't have much food over there", Cole stammers.

I throw him a piece of elk meat that we had stored.

"There, now stay over on your side", I say to him.

Cole picks up the meat in his mouth and returns to his side. I then turn to Chad.

"Don't call Cole and the others "them" It separates our clan even more than it already is", I say before I walk back to my den.

I sit at the edge of my den and look at everyone working below. I soon lay down and think about Riley and Connor; I hope they're alright. I look and see Rhianna tending to Jerrad's wounds; they're both laughing, so I assume that Jerrad is doing alright and telling his jokes again. I think about what options I have to deal with the Ocean's Sun Clan. I could go to the UCF, but that would take too long, and they might not even help; next option, I could go to war with their clan, but I'm not sure how many wolves are in their clan, and our clan is already at war with each other. I eventually decide to get up and try to talk with Cole and the others.
