Dear writer...

There will be times when you shall struggle, when you shall work very hard and try your best, but to no avail. When you'll have oceans to say, yet your tongue seems to be able to speak only droplets, when you'll wake up one day and find an invisible barrier, an unknown obstacle between you and your words. Your words which demand to be let out, which beg to be allowed to flow free, straight from your heart onto the paper, the power that only words can wield, releasing a part of your soul into the paper, but you just can't.

When you know, what lies behind that barrier, what lies behind that seemingly unconquerable hurdle, so close to you, so largely a part of you, yet so out of reach. And the harder you try, the furthur it shall move away from you.

However, let it be known, and remembered clearly, all the anger, the frustration, the helplessness raging through you, the feeling of having storms rage through your mind while you stare at your empty paper, clutching, squeezing the pen hard in your hand, will only push away those words, add to the barrier and frustrate you more and more, till you can't take it anymore and you give up. You rip the paper to shreds and cry out in frustration, unable to voice your thoughts, unable to handle the silent storm, unable to make the words flow. All that anger, frustration and desperation pushing you towards the edge until you feel you have failed, failed your reader's expectations, your own expectations and everyone's trust.

In such times, times of storms and wilderness, of tempests raging in the presence of overwhelming, screaming voices and blank pages and utter helplessness, don't give up hope. Don't give up on those voices, don't stop pushing against the barrier, don't stop swimming in the tempest, don't rip the paper to shreds.

Write. Simply write. Whatever that comes to your mind. Whatever that appeals to your mind. Whatever that you like, even if you know it is totally rubbish, you know it is absolute nonsense, you know it doesn't mean anything. Keep writing, keep pushing the barrier, keep trying to make a hole in the outer walls which restrict your words. Keep trying until it gives in.

After all, the best books aren't written in a day.
