It is 7:03 AM, 13 hours and 47 minutes into the drive. My mom is taking me away from my hometown Houston, and bringing me to sad, old Ohio. She thinks it's good for me to "connect" with my relatives over the summer, so now I have to live with people I have never met.
7:49 Am, 14 hours and 33 minutes into the drive. We stopped at an off-route plaza, and met up with my aunt Jen, she was at a business meeting so my mom offered to bring her back to Houston. Aunt Jen had made healthy burgers that were made of: apples, lettuce, carrots, avocado, and raisins. I'm allergic to avocado, so I got McDonald's instead. Aunt Jen and my mom were surprised, I never eat McDonald's, because when my sister, Morgan, who by the way doesn't have to come to Ohio, and I were little she used to tell me the meat was made out of pink slime, gross.
It is now 8:12 Am , 15 hours and 46 minutes into the drive, and I'm nervous. I have never been away from my parents, well mom, for more than a week. My dad is in the army so he goes to Edmonton, Alberta a lot to train. He is usually gone for a month or two, but he has been gone for 3 months now, and we don't know when he will be back. Anyways, what if I don't like them? My relatives. Are they nice? Are they rich?...will they like me?
10:16 Am , 17 hours and 50 minutes into the drive. We are 5 minutes away from my grandparents house. We just pulled onto their street, but something doesn't feel right, like a bad memory. But I have never met them, or...or have I? No I'm just being paranoid. Everything's fine, I think.
