Present Day

<RAINS POV>

"morning"

"morning sweetie."

I come downstairs to see my mom smiling at me, holding a large plate of eggs and bacon. As usual,she is dressed before me and my sister. mum now works as a waitress at the Bistro and Grill Café. And also as usual my tennis all star champion prodigy sister is up before me, ready to outshine me.

"late as usual" my sister smirks at me

At least I have fun in life and don't worry my ass off all  the time about how to outshine me or my grades I shoot back, though only in my head.

After a hurried breakfast, I rush upstairs to my bedroom to take a shower. Sara always likes to pick me up early. After my shower, I grab my favorite dress shirt- dress and a pair of light brown high heels and I'm out. My hair is naturally curly and rebellious, so I never really have to do anything to it but put product in.

Surely, 5 minutes later, I hear the honking of a horn and go outside to greet my friend. Sara is both me and my sisters' friend, but she likes me better and only gives me rides to school. 

As we approach the school, I get dropped off by the football stadium, since it's right next to the theater.  And since the school built the theater class right next to the football stadium, we theater people have to walk across the whole stadium track to get to class. Oh,and the football guys are no help either, seeing as they love to play games with us by throwing balls at us to make us run and intimidate us. 

As I walk across the stadium, the boys all look at me, daring me to get within football range throwing of them. When I finally reach that range, Gail  Hollows, the bull-headed jackass and the popularist guy in school pointed at me and yelled "CHARGE!!!" and instantly 50 or so footballs were flying through the air going towards me.

I'll get you one day you jackass I think as I run towards the end of the stadium,trying  to get away. It was no use. They always got their victims. No one ever got away. Suddenly,while trying to escape, I see two footballs fly in the air at me this time to hit me,not miss. While I tried to run from them,they got closer and closer. The last thing I remember was standing there watching the balls with wide eyes before someone tackled me to the ground, protecting me from the footballs. My head was throbbing from hitting the ground hard and my vision very blurry.

then everything went blank.

" is she okay,she looks dead"

" this is all your falt you jackasses"

"not" 

"we got another victim though"

wait. are they talking about me?? Am I dead? that voice that scrutinized them sounds famillliar..........

slowly, I open my eyes to see Hayes Hollows,with his arms around me, looking terrified.  The other football guys are all huddled around me, looking as though I might sock them all one. well, I am pissed why not?

I look up to see Gail Hollows ,the football captain kneeled behind Hayes with a smirk on his face,as though happy he got another victim,not that I am hurt.

Trying to get up on my feet, I feel a sharp pain In my thigh,making me fall back to the ground.

"are you okay? " Hayes asks me in a shaky voice

" I think I need to go to the office"  I answer back

Gail just rolled his eyes and scoffed. 

" it's only a game"

Hayes gets an irritated look on his face,gets up and socks his brother in the chin, surprising us all. 

" you need to learn how to respect women" he yells, as gail stumbles. 

Gail then gets a mean look in his eyes, and grabs Hayes' shirt, and hits him continuously. When gail started to hit harder, Hayes suddenly socked him hard making him  fall to the ground. 

After that ,he puts one hand on my back and the other on top of my hand pulling me up . Stumbling a bit, I put my arm around his neck for support and he starts walking me towards the office.

" sorry you had to see that, gail just has no limits to how cruel he can be"  Hayes apologizes as we walk across the parking lot towards the main office. When we get to the office ,Hayes holds the door open for me ,and helps me to a seat. After telling the nice office ladies what had happened, he waited with me for my parents and his parents to get here, somehow managing to get gail suspended for doing this to me.

An hour later, our parents got here, taking gail to home and me to the doctors office. I ended up having a torn muscle in my upper thigh that would eventually need surgery. For now, my doctor told me I would be getting a cast. They gave me a shot that numbed my leg,and an hour later, I had an white cast on my leg. Guess my mom cant complain now about me having to wear short shorts.

When we got home, I went upstairs to take a nap,while mum had to talk to the Hollows about Gail's behavior. I hope he get a lesson learned or else I might just sock him. Hayes was taken out early too, but instead of punishing him ,his parents praised him for saving me. 

He truly was my hero today, and that is exactly why he is my best friend in the whole wide world. 

And maby we would become even more than friends one day.
