the lukewarm water hit bea's bare back, washing away thoughts and ponderings over her first day along with the sweat from the lack of air conditioning in that shit hole.
it was weird to think that just next door held david dobrik, laying on his bed, staring up at the ceiling. she hopped out of the shower, wrapping a towel around her now-clean body. he went downstairs to have dinner with his parents and siblings. she microwaved a ready meal and took it up to her room. he studied for his biology pop quiz that was going to be held the next day. she laid down on her bed, staring at her ceiling and shuffling her spotify playlist. he shut his eyes and let sleep take over his body. she drank coffee to ensure she was awake to welcome her mom home from a most-likely draining day at work.
bea loved her mom infinitely. she was extremely appreciative of all that her mom did for her. her mom worked hard in order to raise bea and bea promised herself that she'd never take her mom for granted.
ever.
her mom ended up arriving home at 4am and by then bea was fast asleep. despite bea's best efforts, sleep caught up to her sooner than expected.

it was a tuesday. it was 6:30am. It was time for bea to wake up. did she wake up? nope. bea had always hated getting up for school. the only reason for this was that she loved sleep, like a lot. sleeping was her favourite thing to do.
she ended up waking up at 7am and had to rush to get to the bus. she looked pretty shitty since she had to get ready for school in a matter of 10 minutes. she was wearing a UCLA hoodie with the hood up, her favourite sweatpants, and some basic nike sneakers.it was an all black kinda day.
she took her seat on the bus and who sat next to her? david of course. he was like a pest that she needed exterminated. he just had to ruin her school day before it had even started.
"you look like shit" were david's chosen friendly words of greeting.
"i am aware." bea replied bluntly.
"how was your first day of school?" david tried to change the subject
"mediocre. how was your ordinary day of school?"
"pretty ordinary. except I met you" david regretted letting that last part slip
"um... what?" bea was taken aback by that last part.
"i mean we rarely have new people join our school... so you know... it was a bit more than ordinary" david stumbled over his words
"you're weird, dobrik." bea chuckled
bea headed to homeroom. it was her first homeroom since joining the school and she was nervous about who was in her homeroom. what if her homeroom was literally just filled with all the people katrina told her to avoid? her homeroom teacher seated her next to zane which she was happy about since he seemed nice from the one hour of math she spent with him the day before.
"hey bea" zane said as she sat next to him
"hey zane"
"i'm glad you're in my homeroom since everyone else in here are pieces of shit" he admitted
"good to know" bea chuckled
