bea's first week at vernon hills high was coming to an end, as it was the final period on friday: art. it was overall an ok class, most of the time they just listened to music and talked amongst themselves, with blank canvases in front of them.

"am I the only one who thinks this class is utter bullshit? miss hyde just sits on her ass for an hour and gets paid for it?  i'm all for a class with no effort needed but if the principal found out she'd be fired immediately, the lucky bitch." katrina muttered to bea, as the rest of the class talked over the music they were 'listening to': abba's greatest hits.

"i totally agree. such a waste of my education" bea replied drily, with a slight chuckle.

"wow you really don't  care about this important issue, do you?" katrina laughed "Hey do you wanna come to my plave after school?"

"sure. how do you get home?"

"i walk"

bea whinged,  "how long a walk?"

"relax its literally only a couple blocks away from here." katrina smiled at bea's lackadaisical ways.

"a couple blocks too many" bea huffed.

"why don't you get off your ass for once and walk with me?"

"you're a real bitch sometimes, you know that?" bea tried to act seriously, stifling a smile.

"i try my hardest" katrina beamed.

"but seriously though, you do need a nick name." bea interrupted.

"we're on this shit again?"

"fine" bea sighed, "katrina it is i guess." she shrugged

"thank god." katrina released an over-dramatic sigh of relief.

the bell went and the duo headed to bea's locker. she then continued to empty all her books ifrom her backpack and nto her locker.

"woah, why are all your books in here?" katrina asked "we have history homework. remember?"

"ok i don't wanna sound like im trynna be edgy here but whats the point of homework?"

katrina couldn't come up with an answer

bea continued, "exactly, theres no fucking point! it doesn't help me in school at all and most of the time teachers forget about the homework they set themselves. time is precious and I'm not wasting my time writing facts about famous mathematicians or making a poster about hormones." bea retorted

"wow you're clearly super passionate about this" trina chuckled.

bea slammed her undecorated locker shut and began their trecherous journey of a couple blocks to katrina's house.

"do you like videogames?" katrina started.

"i don't think i've ever played one.." she shrugged.

katrina's jaw fell agape, "i'm sorry... what? you've never played anything? not one?" she was clearly shocked.

bea shook her head in negation.
