Day 13

(I'm going to do a little time jump here. Just to get things rolling;)

A couple weeks passed, and Luke was still under the child curse, as Joel so kindly wished to call it. In fact, he seemed to be getting younger. The other day he wanted a bottle, which nobody knew what do at that point.

The doctor said that, based on the sudden cure in Moriah, it must have been something mental that caused Moriah to click back to reality. But no matter how hard the adults tried to snap Luke back to "the now", Luke just kept getting younger. And Moriah kept getting further along in her pregnancy too. Joel eventually started to tease that they would soon have two diaper babies in the house at the rate this was going.

However, today, Luke woke up SCREAMING his lungs out. Joel about had a panic attack when he heard this man-childs scream. He knew Luke had a particularly high voice, but this sound was just unreal. Moriah and Courtney were both running around the house, trying millions of different things to calm Luke down, because by gosh he was SCREAMING. It sounded as if a million jets all had engines which had gone off line. Finally, and much to her own dismay, Courtney gave up and just gave Luke some Benedryl to make him sleepy......which in turn made him even more mad because he became a baby who wanted to sleep but couldn't. Courtney was now officially done with trying and called Helen.

Helen has no clue what to do either, and thought the best thing to do was just to let him cry it out.

But that wasn't going to happen, seeing as the dogs down the street were now howling in response. Moriah went to the medicine cabinet and grabbed Melatonin gummies and gave Luke four of them, only because the man child still had the weight of a full grown man. Within about an hour or so, Luke was sitting on the couch staring into space as if in a sugar coma. But he was silent, so that's all that mattered to the rest of the adults. Once the group got Luke upstairs to take a nap, they gathered downstairs to try and sort things out.

"We can't keep doing this. Luke just keeps getting younger, and there's only so many days that he can wind the clock back, because I doubt he can turn back into an embryo.."

Helen gulped.

"We just need to see if we can get him involved in stuff he did as an adult. Because we keep letting him do child-like things, so what if we just do the opposite?" Courtney suggested. "It wouldn't hurt to try, right?"

They all looked over at Luke, who still was staring into space as if he was hypnotized. They looked back at each and nodded in unison.

"We'll have to start with the thing he likes the most." Joel Said. He got up and headed to the pantry. The rest stared at him, bewildered. He came back moments later with a box of cheese-it's.

"Um...wha-.." Moriah started to say, but Joel cut her off by holding his hand up, then placing a finger on his lips.

Moriah and the rest of the group just sat back and watched whatever was about to happen. Joel took a single cheese-it, gave it to Luke, who stared at it like a cat looks at a mouse toy, whereas Joel just smiled hopefully.

"This better work" Joel muttered under his breath. He put his both of his hands in L-shapes, then put his thumbs together, then stepped back about 2 feet from where Luke was sitting.

At this point Moriah figured out what was about to happen, and groaning, she put her face in her hands and shook her head in disappointment. She looked up at the others, who still weren't sure of what was going on, and rolled her eyes.

"....cheese-it football...." She said. "Just....just watch..." she added.

Something seemed to click in Luke's mind, because he knew what Joel was attempting to accomplish. Without hesitation, Luke flung the cracker towards Joel's hands, making it go through the space in between his fingers. Joel cheered, then Luke followed, and then before anyone could stop them, Joel got the rest of the kids involved. This in turn created an all-out cheese-it football tournament, right in their living room.

Cheese-its were flying everywhere, and all Courtney and Moriah could see was an enormous orange mess which they would have to clean up later. Helen was getting a kick-out if the whole ordeal though, even doing small chants acting like the group's cheerleaders. Moriah and Courtney started to smile, the scene bring them back to when their concerns weren't as large and continuing to grow. They both decided to get in on the fun too, coming to the conclusion that something this entertaining only happens once in a while.

Sydney was starting to pick up the forsaken cheese-its off the floor, snacking as she went about the area. She got to the window and saw some movement. Looking up quick, she spotted what looked like a man, but she didn't know for sure. He had ran away before she could tell.

"I just saw a man!" She yelled, but there was so much activity happening in the room, no one could hear her. She decided to just leave it, partly because she saw another cheese-it close to her foot which grabbed her attention once again.

Unbeknownst to her though, the man had scooted back to where he had been, continuing what he had started.

He was lucky that he could only be seen by her. Otherwise his cover could have just been jeopardized by her curiosity.

He chuckled, as he filmed the chaos happening inside their doors.

He could not wait to give this report to his boss. This was pure entertainment.

Moriah stood up to go to the bathroom.  Feeling a pair of eyes on her, she turned and saw the bushes move. She squinted to see if she could tell what was causing the bushes to move, but didn't see anything, so she just continued on her way.

Justin looked scared. Could Sydney not be the only one who could see him?

He packed up his stuff and decided to call it a day. He needed to get back anyway, because he was very late.

Hastily, he gathered his things. However, he left something very valuable behind in the bush....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well guess what.
11 months.
Yeah I don't even know what the heck I did this year.
I guess you could say massive heartache and no motivation for anything.
Yay, we love that.
Anyway, I'm glad I was able to get this chapter out, and I'll try to update again within the next month if my life doesn't get hectic again.
No promises😒💔
Hope you guys like it! Any guesses as to the culprit of this whole fiasco?😁
Be sure to comment your guesses, I just might reply if you guess right😉
Until Next time☺️
