Kara Danvers, an introverted young women, sat in a small coffee shop, by the name of Noonans. Silently reading a small book and drinking a cup of ice cold water.

A young waitress, seeming the age of Kara, walked over with another glass in her hand "Another cup?" She asked waving the cup around. The waitress was short. She had short black hair, and a smile that seemed to light up the room. Her name tag read: Imra.

Kara nodded slowly while putting her book down on the table in front of her.

Imra placed the cool cup of water on the square table. She grabbed a straw out of her apron and put it next to the cup. She picked up the empty cup and flashed one of those smiles before waltzing away.

Kara didn't say anything. She just unrapped the straw and placed it in the new water. She picked her book up once again and began reading while sipping down the icy beverage.

"She likes you." A scruffy voice came from the booth behind Kara. She dropped the straw back into its cup and placed her book down for the second time. She turned her body around 180 degrees and looked at the man. He was handsome, no dobt. He had brown short hair, and brown eyes. Almost the same color. He also had a light scruff. Kara seemed to like that.

She gave him a confused look. He slid out of the booth and onto his feet. Taking a few steps forward and placed himself across from her. "Imra, the waitress" he pointed her out. She was pouring coffee for a man and smiling once again. "She likes you. I can tell" he commented

Kara still said nothing. She didn't really enjoy talking. At least not ever since her disease seemed to come out. She was fine for 23 years. And then last summer, she just broke. "Not much of a talker huh?" He asked her. She slightly shook her head no. "Well I'm Mon-el" he held out his hand. "Feel free to tell me your name" he joked while Kara took his hand onto hers, shaking it slowly.

"I'm Kara." She finnaly said after letting his hand go and placing it on her water. The cool sensation ran up her arm, giving her a slight chill.

"Kara" he repeated "that's a beautiful name"

"Thankyou" she said quietly while putting a strand of hair behind her ear.

Mon-el was about to speak again, when an almost silent jingle came from the door behind him. Revealing a tall girl in an all black outfit with short reddish hair. Alex. Kara's older sister. Basically Kara's care taker ever since she got sick.

Alex walked over to the booth they were in and Kara scooted over for Alex to sit next to her. She did so, however with a puzzled look on her face. "Who's this?" She asked. She was asking more the man in front of her rather then Kara, knowing she probably wouldn't answer.

"I'm Mon-el " He answered holding out his hand to Alex.

She took it and shook it vigorously. "Alex" she replied. He nodded and pulled his hand away from Alex's, rubbing it slightly. Alex turned to Kara. "Have you eaten today?" She asked.

Kara nodded hesitantly. "Kara?" Alex said in an accusing voice.

"I had a sticky bun before you came in. The waitress just took it." Kara lied.

Mon-els brows furrowed. He had known Kara hadn't eaten anything since she came in. She had just drunken a cup of water.

Alex was still not convinced so she turned to Mon-el in front of her. "Did you see her eat the sticky bun?" She asked

Mon-el turned to Kara. Her eyes were pleading for him to lie with her. He didn't understand why she was lying but he decided to run with it. "Yes, that's when I came over"

Alex smiled brightly. "I'm so proud of you" she congratulated while hugging her sister.

Kara looked down in disappointment. Disappointment in herself. For lying. For not eating. For not being a person anymore, but a problem.

Alex finnaly let go of Kara and walked over to the waitress to order a coffee to go.

Mon-el looked to Kara. She was still looking down "Hey, why did you lie?" He asked

Karas eyes shot to his. She opend her mouth to speak, but immediately closed it. Not knowing what to say. So instead she just stared at her frosty cup of water.

"Kara!" Alex called "you ready?" She asked. Kara nodded and stepped from to booth. Mon-els eyes followed her. She walked out of Noonans and just like that she's was gone. The only evidence of her beauty being here was the half cup of water.

But Mon-el still didn't understand. Why did Kara lie about eating and why does she only drink ice cold water everyday . It hadn't been the first time he had seen her in Noonans. It was just the first time he had engaged.

She was so beautiful and she looked so sweet and innocent, he just had to talk to her. And his assumptions seemed to be correct. She did act extremely sweet. He wasn't as sure about innocent however.

Never the less, he still smiled at the thought of her and couldn't wait to see her again tomarrow.
