though i extend my hand

though i extend it with all my strength

i can't reach you.

It seemed like i got closer

so i called you

with a fluttering heart

but there's no answer.

i guess i can never

reach you.

senior year, 2015

it was another bright and sunny day on the university campus. hiro had just arrived from across town, for that's where his parents lived. his mother and father both had fantastic careers. they made enough money for him to go to college, and probably enough for a room there as well. but that's their son, hiro nishimura. they couldn't let him go that easy.

on his way to class, hiro noticed there was something off. he couldn't tell what was off exactly. the sky was the same shade of blue. there seemed to be no clouds in the sky, and the temperature was a little too hot for comfort, but still comfortable. he just couldn't tell what was wrong.

the day seemed to drag on. he didn't notice how exhausting it had become until his last class. yet again, he noticed there was something off. it ate away at him. he had no idea what it was and couldn't possibly figure out a way to find out what it was. his day was just as normal as it always was. it wasn't until he was driving home, he realized what had been so...off....about the day.

he realized he hadn't seen zela all day. they were in one of those relationships where if they were busy, they'd give each other space. and it was understandable. both had a lot on their plates. they couldn't go on those romantic dates all the time. however, near the end of the day, they always left each other sweet notes. hiro grew suspicious and decided to text her, using whatsapp.

zela? i noticed you haven't been texting me at all today. i know you're probably busy. but i also have noticed you haven't been on since yesterday. is everything okay? i miss you. i love you!

first year on the job, 2016

it was like another morning for hiro. the casual ugh and oof while getting up from a 3-hour....nap. he had graduated last year and since then hasn't done much. he got a job straight out of school (which was a surprise) and has distracted himself since. but he's noticed, that ever since that one day in his senior year, his life has never been the same.

zela chaiprasit was supposed to be the love of his life. he met her and planned an entire future out with her. but one day, it was like she disappeared into thin air. he had no idea what happened to her. he asked around, and it was like nobody knew of her. like she had never existed. he questioned as to why this had happened. he deserved an explanation, but you know, she hasn't come back, so he can't really get an explanation as to why.

he wonders why she just left. if she wanted to break up with him.

i never realized

that all of this

was just

the misconceptions

of me.

but i also

never thought about

the misconceptions

of  you.

perhaps we are both

similar.

perhaps

these are

the misconceptions

of us.
