Mitch's POV
Things were almost back to normal between me and Scott. It was almost like nothing had happened. The only thing that changed is the fact that Scott is always by my side. Anytime I went out to do anything he would go with me.
"Hey I'm going to run and get some coffee." I called out to Scott while I put on my shoes.
"Cool. Let me get my shoes and I'll go with you." he called from his room.
We walked down to the car and he opened the door for me and then went to his side of the car. We turned on the radio and sang to every song we new as loud as we could. It was like that all the way to the little coffee shop.
We went to the counter to order. The guy behind the counter was tall with long brown hair and had beautiful green eyes.
"Hi, what can I get for you?" he said to me with a flirtatious smile.
I smiled back and ordered. I paid and Scott and I went to a small table by the window to wait for our drinks.
"I don't like the guy who took our order." Scott said more to himself than to me.
"Why is that?" I asked. The guy seemed really nice.
"He tried hitting on you."
"He was just being polite."
Just then the tall man with brown hair came over with out drinks. He gave me a piece of paper and winked at me before he turned to walk away.
"What is that?" he said pointing to the folded paper.
I unfolded it to see his number followed by call me. I folded the paper back and shoved it into my pocket to throw away later.
"It's nothing." I gave Scott a reassuring smile.
He didn't smile back. "It is his number isn't it?"
"Yeah."
"Aren't you going to throw it away?" I could tell he was starting to get mad.
"I was going to once we got home." I said with some attitude.
"Oh, so you can save it in you phone first right?" He was now ticked.
"Of course not. Why are you getting all mad over something so stupid?"
"I'm going to the car." He got up and went out the door.
I waited a second before getting up. I went out to see Scott already in the car and the engine already started. I hopped into the car not saying a word. The car ride was quiet except for the music playing softly in the background. I stared out my window. Out of nowhere my phone buzzed.
"Is it a text from him already?" Scott was still mad.
I ignored him and looked at my phone.
Kirstie: Hey
Me: Hey what's up?
Kirstie: Just wanted to know if you wanted to hang out tonight. You can bring Scott. :)
I thought about it for a moment and decided I needed some time away from Scott.
Me: Yeah I'll hang out. I have to talk to you.
Kirstie: Is everything okay??
Me: yes and no. I'll tell you tonight.
Kirstie: Okay :(
Me and Kirstie talked about details the rest of the ride home.
I wasn't going to tell Scott about my plans until I was leaving so he couldn't really try to tag along.
Once we got home Scott went strait to his room slamming his bedroom door. I did the same. We stayed like that almost all day. I left my room when I wanted something to eat or when I needed to go to the restroom.
I don't get why he is so mad. It's not like I begged the guy for his number. I pulled the piece of paper that he gave me out of my pocket. I didn't even unfold it I just ripped it up and threw it in the trash.
To distract myself I got on twitter. After I looked at everything new I went to look through my clothes to see what I wanted to wear tonight. After that I still had time to waste so I went through my pictures on my phone. I smiled at the pictures of me and Scott. After a while I got dressed and ready to go.
I walked out of my room after Kirstie said she was almost here to pick me up. I went to Scott's door and knocked softly. A moment later he opened the door.
I spoke first "I just wanted to let you know I'm going out tonight with Kirstie so I might be home late." I turned and started to the door.
"Are you telling me a lie?"
I stopped in my track and turned around. "What? Why would... what do you... what would I lie about?"
"Are you going to hang out with him?"
I was confused "Him who? The guy from the coffee shop?"
"Yeah. The one who gave you his number." He rolled his eyes getting angry again for no reason.
"I can't with you right now." I turned and went outside to see Kirstie waiting for me.
What was his problem?
I hopped into the car and she drove us to a club. Once we were there I told her about how Scott got all mad this morning over nothing and how we spent all day in our own rooms not talking and what happened right before I left.
"Wow. That's not like Scott at all." she said taking another sip of her drink.
"I know."
She smiled at me. "I think I know what you need."
"What?" I smiled back.
She took my hand and pulled me out to the dance floor. We danced for hours just having fun. Once Kirstie was tripping over her own feet I decided it was time to go. I didn't drink anything but water so I drove us to her place.
Once we got there I realized it was after three in the morning. I went to send Scott a text letting him know I was going to stay at Kirstie's place. That's when I realized I left my phone at home.
I wasn't going to worry about it. Scott was probably sleeping anyways.
I made sure Kirstie made it to her bed before making myself comfy on her couch and drifted off to sleep.
