> Junmyeon's POV <
"So, Suho. I heard from the folks around town that you're the one teaching the students in Ki-eok Elementary School, huh? How is it so far?" ask Grandpa, washing his meal with Soju. I take a deep exhale, "Grandpa, please. It's Junmyeon. Jun-myeon. And it's hard, they won't pay attention at all to what I'm saying."
Yixing muffles a laugh, "But they manage to get good grades, right?" I find myself bobbing my head, "Yes, surprisingly." Grandpa nods proudly, "That's what this island is know for, raising little children with unbelievable knowledge. Just a year ago, Min-young's son got into Seoul University with full scholarship! Because of that, it seems lots of tourists wants to leave their child here to learn. Hahaha!" He gives out a hearty laugh.
"It's sad though. Only a few teachers are willing to teach students in the island, they said that it's hard to live in an island with few resources unlike Seoul which is booming with everything from recreation to needs." says Yixing smartly. "That's only natural for us city people. To be honest, I don't think I could survive the whole year here as well." I solemnly said.
"Don't think too much about that! You lived here half the time before! I'm sure it's no problem for you to live here." I narrow my eyes down, sadness overcoming me as I remember vivid memories of my time here as a child.
I place my chopsticks down, dabbing my mouth with a tissue. I fix my eyes to both of them before I make a stand from my seat, "Excuse me.." I spoke, turning to the opposite direction. "Are you going down by the beach again?" ask Yixing.
I froze in place, "Ah yeah.. Thought I'd get some fresh air. I'll be going now.." I proceed to head out the house. Grandpa and Yixing were left bewildered, "Seems like.. he's still not over that incident.." says Grandpa, taking another shot of his Soju. Yixing sighs, fixing the empty plates of everyone, "Though it's strange... He still goes down by the beach where it happened."
Grandpa nods, letting silence answer for him.
...
I sat down by the edge of the rock, pouring out all my thoughts about that mysterious girl I met here just two nights ago. It was too unfortunate that I didn't get to ask her her name.. She disappeared when Yixing called out for me by the distance, and with one blink of an eye away from her, she was gone the moment I turn to look at her..
During the day, I would constantly hope to come across her whenever I rode my bike down to school, but nothing. It seems she's not one of the people that resides her. In my mind, I could still faintly remember her aquamarine eyes that shone with the moonlight, and her gentle expression when she gapped at my presence.
I let out a sigh, "What are you doing, Suho.. There's no way you'd meet that girl, again.. She might be just a tourist that might have already left to who knows where." I clench both my hands into a fist, "But.. why do I feel so close to her whenever I come here.."
I lift myself up, dusting off the sand from my shorts, "I must be going crazy.. I should probably stop. I might.. remember that incident again.." I start to the direction of the house, not peeping another glance back at the sea.
> Emi's POV <
He's.. waiting again. I sat down the mossy rock, staring up the waters to find him seated on his usual spot. My hands flew up to my face, fuming of anger as I did. If only I was human too.. then these feelings inside of me won't be in such despair right now..
My eyes follow as he walks out the big rock, unable for me to see his sight anymore. My heart starts to throb of pain, I want to see his face up close.. I want him to stare at me with his eyes. Why must I have gone up during that night.. If I hadn't.. then I wouldn't be feeling these emotions right now.. You are so stupid, Emi..
