It has been 3 days since Ross and I kissed and I have been avoiding him ever since.
I don't like him at all. In fact, I hate him wholeheartedly. I just don't understand why my stomach flutters every time I think of him and that kiss.
I've been sitting in the back of the classroom in American Lit., so I won't be near him. Also I haven't gone to a single party with Rydel. Not that I want to go to one.
Rydel has been keeping lookout for me in case Ross drops by the room, which he hasn't yet.
My phone buzzed in my pocket.
"Hello?"
"Hey Laura, don't come to the room. Ross is knocking at the door asking to see you."
"Doesn't he have a key?"
"Yes, but I took it away from him when you told me about the kiss. Also you'd better stay away for a while because I don't think he is leaving the door."
"Okay thanks for the heads up Rydel."
I turned away from the dorms and started walking to Starbucks. I seriously need a Carmel Frappe right now.
"Hey Laura! Haven't seen you in a while." a voice called from behind.
Oh no. I whirled around ready to scream at Ross, but it wasn't Ross.
"Eddie?" at least it wasn't Ross.
"Last I checked." he chuckled. How cute.
"Sorry, I thought you were someone else."
"Like Ross?" Wow, he's smart too.
"Yeah, how'd you know?"
"Well I heard you've been avoiding him, the kid hasn't been to a single party for the past three days, he's just been locked up in his room all alone doing god knows what."
"Oh."
"So anyways, you want hang out?" Maybe hanging out with Eddie is just what I need.
"Yeah, I was just heading to Starbucks, but we can go somewhere else if you want."
"No, Starbucks is fine." he smiled and we started walking.
••••••
"No way!" I said in between fits of laughter.
"It's true!" Eddie laughed.
"There's no way you could have actually spray painted on your principals house and not get caught!" I laughed.
"Well Shor was in charge of the whole operation." he grinned.
"Of course he was." my smile faded, yet I still felt the familiar flutter in the pit of my stomach.
"Ah, the great vandalization heist of 2011." A voice from behind came out.
Oh shit.
"Ross?" I whirled to face him.
"Hi Laura, it's a pleasure to see you again," he smiled, "may I sit?"
"Yeah sure dude." Eddie gave Ross a weird look as he pulled up a chair.
"Thank you, and just so you know, I'm no longer the same person I was three years ago." he smiled at me.
"Um Shor, are you feeling okay?" Eddie asked Ross.
"Oh I'm feeling wonderful Eddie." Ross smiled.
"So anyways, Shor are you actually going to come to the party tonight or are you going to sulk in your room all night?" Eddie asked.
"First of all I am not sulking, I am relaxing, and secondly, I am not going to the party even if it is in my own house."
"Fine. Laura, are you going to come to the party then?" Eddie asked me.
Lets see, I hate parties, but if Ross isn't going to be there then I might as well have some fun.
"I may make an appearance." I smiled at Eddie.
Ross cleared his throat, "Laura, Rydel wanted me to tell you she needs to talk to you."
"Oh okay, I can just walk back to the dorms then, and I'll see you tonight Eddie." I stood from the table and left.
"Hey Laura, I can drive you!" Ross ran and caught up to me in the parking lot.
"No, Ross I'd rather just walk."
"But I'm offering to drive you back, and it's kind of far to walk all alone."
"Okay fine, but no talking during the whole ride." I sighed and got in the car.
"Understood." Ross grinned and got in on the drivers side.
The whole ride back, Ross didn't say a word to me, but that was all ruined once we parked at the dorms.
"So are you really going to go to that party tonight?"
"Why do you care?"
"Look, Eddie isn't the guy you think he is."
"He's a much better guy than you'll ever be."
"That's what it seems like for now, but trust me he is not the guy he acts like."
"Like I should be listening to you." I got out of the car and walked to the dorms as quickly as I could without looking back.
When I got to my room Rydel was pacing up and down with a billion dresses piled up on her bed.
"Rydel, I need you to give me a hot dress for tonight's party."
She squealed excitedly.
