I shut the door behind me.
"Let's go. Which way?" I said.
"Let's go around the block."
And off we went. We asked each other lots of questions like: how old we are, what movies we liked, what are families are like, and all that kind of stuff. I seemed to talked to him like I knew him for years. And I felt this warm feeling I never had before and it was a nice feeling to have.
Apparently we go to the same high school, I just never noticed him. Our school is pretty big. He also was my partner for a project once. It was weird how he was always near by and I never seemed to remember or notice him.
"My parents would kill me if they found out about this," my friend said looking worried.
"My parents too! They don't think I can handle myself in our own neighborhood. I mean I am almost fifteen," I replied, "My parents are weird."
"Mine are totally weird," He said as he laughed silently, "But since it's such a big deal to them, let's keep this a secret."
I nodded.
After halfway around the block, we stopped at a park. It was empty. He headed towards the swings. I slowly walked up behind him.
"I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Hunter." He put out his hand.
"Nice to meet you," I said as I greeted him, "Do you think you can push me on the swing?"
He nodded.
We laughed and talked for what seemed a long time.
I finally jumped off the swing onto the grass and Hunter laid next to me.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"Seven-thirty."
I hadn't looked up at the sun to see were it stood. It was setting.
"We'd better get back." I said starting for home as Hunter followed.
When we arrived at the house I saw my parents were home. My stomach felt sour.
"Bye. I will see you later," I said. I turned to head for the door but Hunter grabbed my arm gently and pulled me into a hug. It was kind of awkward but nice at the same time.
As we let go and said our last goodbyes, I headed to my door. I felt sad that the day was already ending.
I came into the house.
And my parents were already there and they didn't look angry at all.
