Hannah
Crap, crap, crappity, crap!
I can't believe it! I know I'm prone to this kind of situation and that "anything that can go wrong, it will go wrong", but this is a little too much. I'm having one of those days, but I wish it didn't have to involve Sebastian.
"What do you mean?"
"I meant Mr. Garcia must have locked us here. He must not have seen us inside the classroom. We were after all sitted at the far corner". I say while I try to breathe in and breathe out in order to calm me down.
"Did you plan this?"
"What did you just say?" I swear no amount of breathing in and out can stop me of murdering this kid now.
"Well Hannah, it would be not the first time we find ourselves locked in a closed space, would it?" Oh. my. God. From all the times to mention that night, that's the moment he picks it. I will throtle this jerk.
"And sometimes girls do this kind of thing to get my attention. Was this morning about that?"
"Oh my God, Sebastian! Shut your mouth. If I kill you, I will go to jail and it will be no college for me. So please keep your charming thoughts to yourself. I need to think about how we'll get out of here".
"What's left to think about it? Let's call someone".
At least, he had a good idea.
"Great. Call someone."
"Who?"
"What?"
"Who I should call?"
"I don't know. Anyone that can take me out of here".
"Oh no".
Just my luck. He hasn't said anything but I can only imagine.
"My phone has no battery left".
"Great. I left mine at home". Alberto is definitely on my blacklist now along with Kitty Nichols and Sebastian of course.
"That's bad". And that my friends is the understatement of the century.
"Shush".
"What?"
"Shush".
"I can't believe you are shushing me".
"I am because I need just a little bit of silence to think how I can take us out of here".
This is the perfect moment to apply law #2 and to believe with all my heart in law #7: There's always a way out. It's time for Plan B.
"I still don't know how you can possibly do to take us out of a locked room. By now, the school is basically empty and no one is looking for us...."
"I thought I asked you to shush..."
"Sometimes there's nothing you can do, Hannah. It's a heck of a situation. But we have to suck it up and deal ....
Heck. Heck alright. Heck. Hack. Life hacks. That life hacks video I watched other day. Yay! I knew it would come in handy. And folks, that's the reason I have law #11: Be prepared!
I open my backpack and grab my student card.
"What are you doing?"
"Stay put. Sit there and watch me opening this door golden boy".
I start swiping the card litlle by little down forcing the lock with just the right amount of strength so I don't break my ID.
And then the most beautiful sound in the whole world. The sweet sound of the door opening. Thank you universe for allowing me this small victory. Without thinking I do my little victory dance swaying my hips and shoulders a little.
I'm interrupted from my 'moment' by Sebastian's laugh.
"Charming".
"Shush. As I said I got us out of here. The least you should do is cut me some slack and thank me for getting us out of here while you were making your best portrayal of Ken doll. Useless".
That little guy has no occupation apparently and just tag along Barbie. If you think about it, Barbie's the one that has a house, a car... I clear my throat.
"So, are you moving or not?"
"Thanks Hannah and sorry for accusing you of planning this".
"Don't mention it. And I mean that. Please don't mention what happened to your friends. Or Debbie".
"Ok. I don't see the reason why, but fine".
Actually I should say sorry to him. That's the kind of thig that happens around me all the time. He just got caught in the whole Murphy curse.
We go to the school's parking lot.
"Are you sure you don't need a ride? You must be really late to wherever you're going".
"Nah. I'm good ". No way I'm staying in Sebastian's presence for longer than necessary.
"Maybe you should call someone. Your parents or maybe your boyfriend?"
" We don't have our phones, remember?"
"Yeah. You're right".
"Besides my mom is used to me being a little late. She will understand".
"But what about your boyfriend then? He must be worried about you."
"I don't have a boyfriend so that won't be a problem".
I don't know why suddenly I don't feel so comfortable about this conversation. But then, when I was comfortable being around Sebastian Hart?
We say goodbye to each other. He goes to his fancy car while I go grab my bike. He stops.
"Are you riding that?"
"Yes".
"A Barbie bike?"
"Yep. I'm a fan".
"Come on. I will give you a ride, Hannah".
"I can't let my bike here".
"I'm pretty sure no one is stealing your pink Barbie bike, but you can put it in my trunk".
"No thanks. I'm fine. Really. Bye Sebastian. See you around".
He looks at me in disbelief. I wave him with a fake excitement and paddle away.
