Everything is bright .
The world is burning around her and there is nothing she can do, but it doesn't matter, because she doesn't want to do anything about it anyway. Couldn't do anything if she wanted to.
Everything is cruel and bitter. Everything is falling apart around her. And she curls into a ball, trying to hold herself together in a world that is falling apart.
She flinches as someone curls their body around her, the roof groaning beneath their weight. A hand strokes her hair, pushes it out of her face as they press their forehead to hers. "Kina," he says. She doesn't respond. "Kina, we'll keep looking. I promise."
And that word breaks her. Because, no matter how much he means it, the word is empty. She shudders and cries as if her heart is breaking, and the world crumbles to pieces on her shoulders as her tears become the sky that is falling.
