Ok, before I say this, please promise not to be mad.

I'm going to assume that you promised.

I'm actually writing this at 'home'. I finished work, and I know I told you that I'd write to you if something happened, but in light of my situation then, I think you'll understand.

So I'm sure you'll forgive me after you hear this.

I met Negan. Actually, I more than met him. He scared me half to death. . . Er-- I'll just stop babbling and tell you the story.

I had just gotten into the Sanctuary. (This was after I had put you down.) I was working like normal, and this group of men and women walked to the middle of the balcony above the Sanctuary.

A man dressed in black stepped forward. His black leather jacket shone in the midday light. He had a strange gait. He pulled a baseball bat from behind his back, and lightly tapped the guardrail. "S'cuse me" He had a deep voice. And it sent shivers up my spine.

Negan.

Even though he hadn't yelled, people had heard him over the collective chatter. I guess they were accustomed to this by now.

They all kneeled down. At this point I was pretty confused so I just stood there looking around. Negan scanned his kneeling mass and his eyes stopped on me.

"Hey." Negan spoke, pointing his bat at me. That, I now realized, was the one that had barbed wire wrapped around the barrel. Everything was still. I broke out in a cold sweat. Negan waltzed down the stairs, down to the ground level. People parted and made him a pathway to me, still kneeling.

He gingerly walked over to me in his sideways gait. I didn't dare move. As he got closer he began to speak. "Hey sweetie." I stopped breathing. "I couldn't help but notice your lack of respect." He spit out the word "respect". As he rolled the baseball bat between in hands, and got closer.

"You mind telling me what that's about?" I wanted to speak, to tell him that I had just gotten here yesterday, that I hadn't meant to disrespect him, but all that came out of my mouth was "I-I didn't- I-"

Negan whispered in my ear, still managing to sound deadly "Speak up".

I gulped and grabbed the hem of my shirt for support. "I arrived yesterday Sir." I closed my eyes tightly, fearing he might bash my head in. "I wasn't aware of all of these rules and systems." My palms were getting sweaty.

After an eternal pause I heard Negan begin to laugh. His laugh boomed throughout the Sanctuary. I involuntarily flinched. I opened my eyes slowly. "Calm down sweetie, I'm not gonna hurt you." He was still laughing. I gasped with relief. That laughter ceased quickly. "However, I am going to beat. The. Shit. out of whoever did not do his or her job. Someone was supposed to educate you." He said, turning away from me.

Many thoughts were racing through my mind at this point.

"But-" He looked at me, surprised at my outburst. "What was that?" He put a hand up to his ear. I shook my head, deciding to withdraw what I was going to say. "Nothing. Nevermind."

He smiled, revealing his straight, white teeth. "Ooh we have a brave one here." Something about his smile seemed genuine. He turned to a man of his entourage "Bring this young lady up to my 'conference' room tonight so I can educate her on the 'many rules and systems' here." He turned back to me and smiled again. "Here, we can check one off the list right now. When I am finished speaking to you, you will address me as 'Sir'" I was silent for a moment and then I finally got the hint. "Yes Sir." I spoke clearly. He licked his teeth, thinking of what to say next, I suppose. "See? There you go."

I gave an uneasy smile back to him. He gave me a wink and walked back the way he came. Without so much as a backward glance, he spoke three words. "As you were."

And it was like nothing had ever happened.

Which leads me to where I am now; Which is waiting for that man to bring me to Negan.

I know for a fact that I won't be bringing you with me to see Negan, so I'll just update you afterward.

Sincerely Yours,
