If you haven't noticed, this is my header image. It was done with a sketchbook, a mechanical pencil, and an eraser. Definitely not something you should try when first learning to draw.

I started with the heads. I didn't use shapes because I don't like drawing with shapes, but it is an option to draw if you want to try it.

I then thickened the lines go add a comic book like outline to the characters.

Each marking has its own shade. See Lukas(right) has his face markings a lighter shade than the rest of his face. His torso is also a different color.

Then the shading begins. I start with the eyes because the eyes are the most important to me to draw. Looks good, right?

the rest of the body was another story, because you have to shade from darkest to the color that the fur is supposed to be.

Once that was through, I went back and added highlights with my eraser. I made that gem light fixture about to give me a light source, so I knew which was supposed to stay in the dark and what I needed to highlight.

And there you have it! The finished piece of art!
