Cry. Forgive. Move on
Amara had done all that, except the forgive part. Maybe the crying made it impossible to consider at the time. But two years later, she had made up her mind, she had enough time to think it through, to cry it out, to wonder why it happened, to wonder what she had done to deserve it.
Now being 16, maturity kicks in,, thoughts change, she never spoke to Tony after that day. What for? Isnt that what he wanted?. His wish was granted, she made sure of it. If that was the only way to at least make him happy for once in her life then so be it.
She avoided being around him, did he even notice or cared? Probably not.
The one thing she couldn't avoid was, well living in the same house, she had no other option, so it was obvious that whatever involved him reached her ears. Pepper, who had clearly noticed the change between the two of them, focused on informing her of Tony's whereabouts. Tony had left for Afghanistan for some things and if she was honest she didn't know why Pepper still bothered to include him in her daily life.
She got tired of trying to get his attention and she wasn't planning on trying ever again.
"Miss Stark, Miss Potts demands your presence immediately" the voice of Jarvis sounded through the room
Amara sighed out as she slammed her book shut and carelessly threw it next to her, annoyed but reluctantly made her way down stairs
The stepping of her shoes echoed around the house more than usual, clear sign that the maniac was gone. What a relief. So clearly sobs coming from Pepper were evident.
Taking a closer look to she saw tears running down her face.
"What's wrong pep?" She asked confused cautiously moving towards the strawberry blonde who stood there shaking
Pepper turned towards her and immediatly pulled her into a hug.
The action shocked her and made her a little uncomfortable, but she still hugged back
"Pepper are you okay?" She asked her voice filled with slight worry
Pepper sobbed harder at the question
Why did I ask? I suck at comforting people she scolded herself
"Amara it's about your dad" Pepper said between slight sobs as she pulled away but still held her hands
Amara frowned
"What about him?" She asked
"He's been kidnapped, he's missing" pepper informed crying louder pulling her into another tight hug as she cried into her shoulder
Amara didn't respond
"Amara, we don't know if he's alive" pepper said with a hoarse voice as she yet again pulled away
Amara opened and closed her mouth trying to come up with some words but none came, so she simply turned away and walked upstairs towards her room.
She was worried and she hated to admit it
3 months later
Time passed and they still hadn't heard anything from Tony. Rhodes, Tony's close friend frequently came to the tower to update Pepper, bringing nothing but bad news
The news spoke about it all the time, famous weapon builder Tony Stark, missing.
Right after she got home from her usual walks Pepper ran to her before she could even sit down
"Amara you won't believe what happened!" She exclaimed with teary eyes
Amara motioned for her to continue as she sat down and poured herself a cup of water
