Chandler carried all the wood we collected. We tried to keep it up so we could build a little tent like fort. After five failed attempts we finally got it to stay up. It wasnt big but it could fit us both in, Chandler grabbed some emergency blankets. We got our beds all set up. I was kinda cold from my wet clothes.
"Did you grab anything that i could wear as clothes?" I asked as I pulled my wet shirt away from my cold body.
"Lets see." He said and sat on the sandy beach as he laid out all the stuff he grabbed.
I sat beside him as I looked with him, there was:
3 water bottles,
A couple cans of beans,
A can opener,
A Flashlight,
Batteries,
Whistle,
Hand sanitizer,
Garbage bag,
Toilet paper, A bag of nails, A hammer, A wrench, And duct tape.
He looked at me an frowned a bit. "Not really." I sigh. "I'm going to sit in the sun." He nods and gathers the stuff and puts it under the beds.
I move and sit in the sun as I try to dry off, I buried my feet in the warm sand. I drew some cute little stick figures. I drew a heart and started to write "Chandl- "Hey what are you doing?" Chandler asked. I quickly lifted my feet up wrecking the drawing. "Oh nothing, just messing with the sand." I smiled trying not to look guilty.
We sat there quitely, I scratched my neck awkwardly. He sighed as the shade covered us. "It got dark fast we should try to build a fire." Chandler said. I nodded, He helped me up and we walked up on the grassy ledge our fort house was on.
He gathered rocks while I gathered twigs. He made a small fire pit with the rocks, I made a tee pee out of twings in the middle. He hit rock together trying to get a spark. After many trys, he passed me the rocks. I hit them hard togeter and a spark landed in the pit. "Wow how did you do that?" He asked surprised. I shrug, "Just lucky I guess." I said and put the rocks beside the others. He grabbed the bags and made some beans as I awkwardly went to the bathroom a couple feet away. I wanted to be far away so he wouldn't hear or see me but I didn't want to be far away that he couldn't hear me if I needed help. I walked back to our little camp. I sanitized my hands and we shared the beans. It was quiet other than the fire crackling. I jumped closer to Chandler as we heard a branch snap. He reached for the hammer, ready to fight. The cracking got closer and closer. A small chimpmunk ran over to the water. We sighed reliefed. "We've had a long day, ready to sleep?" he asked me. I nodded. We laid in our blankets our heads facing the roof.
The silnce was getting more and more awkward. "So where were you going?" He asked. "Atlanta for boarding school, Where were you going?" "Home, Why boarding school?" He asked "My dad was going to London and wouldnt let me go." I said as I shivered, the cold air made my wet clothes hell. He slowly moved closer to me, then stopped. "Well Goodnight." "Goodnight Chandler" I whispered as I fell asleep.
