Falling for You

Chapter 9

A sensation of heat starts from my lips and travels all throughout my body, leaving a tingling feeling after. It would be cliché to say I felt fireworks exploding around me, but it's true. I felt explosions in the pit of my stomach growing larger and more powerful by the second. His hand travels down my back until he meets my tailbone, pulling me closer to him. My hands instinctively wrap around his neck and copy his actions. He presses his lips more firmly to mine before slowly pulling away. The taste of his mint Chapstick lingers on my lips which are now swollen, even though we didn't have a makeout session. Sadly.

He rests his forehead against mine.

"Wow." His voice is deep but light at the same time.

"Yeah." I breathe out.

His chest rises and falls against mine, his green eyes look up from the water and bore into mine. My knees scream to give out and just fall into the water.

His red swollen lips pull up into his cheeks, showing his perfectly white teeth.

"How mad would you be if I picked you up and threw you into the water."

"Pretty mad."

He just shrugs and picks me back up. Before he can even throw me in I wrap my legs around his torso and cling into his neck. His hands try to pry me from his body but I just laugh as he fails to do so.

"You know for a twig, you can really hold a death grip." And to that he falls backwards into the wave, putting both of us under water.

"You know if you turn your head more to the right you can see The Big Dipper." I point to my right showing Harry the stars as we lay on a towel in the sand. It was almost midnight and the majority of the class decided to leave. Zayn an Jordan are hooking up somewhere for all I know, Ellie is with some kid, Brad I think? on the towel next to us. Maddy and Niall already went back to the tent along with Chiara and Liam.

"Do you know, if you look at those stars riiiiight over there, it looks like a banana?"

I laugh and sit up looking at the curly headed boy who held a content expression.

"You're so weird."

"Seriously it does though!"

I throw my hands up in defense and lay back down closing my eyes. I changed into yogas and a sweatshirt, well Harry's sweatshirt after our adventure in the waves. Throughout the day, I could feel examining my body, not in a perverted way, but almost as if he was, studying me? My scars were hidden by my bathing suit and hair so he couldn't have seen anything. If he did I don't know what-

"Renée?"

"Hmm?"

"Did you hear a word I just said?"

I roll me head to the left to see Harry. He looked confused but his lips held a tiny smirk.

"Sorry I was zoning out I guess."

His face relaxes and he lets out a breathy chuckle.

"Tired?"

"A liiiiittle bit." I bring my arm up and bring my pointer finger and my thumb together, leaving a centimeter of space as I said so.

"Do you want to go to bed soon?"

"Nah, I-"

"Harry!" A high squeal rips through my ears as I look up to see a figure coming towards us. Her long platinum blond hair was thrown all over the place as if someone had jut run their hands through it multiple times. Her top is barely reaching below her ribs and her shorts ride up her legs each step she takes. Ashley.

"I was looking for you! You promised you'd sleep in my tent with me tonight." Her lips pull into a seductive smirk as I watch her with talk to Harry, oblivious of my presence.

"Ashley nows not a good time." Harry grumbles out, his voice laced with guilt as I look back and forth between the two.

"Why no- oh hi Brenna."

"It's Renée."

"And these are the amount of fucks I give." She sneers into my direction. Okayyy.

"Well you guys have fun I'm going to go?" I get up from my spot but only to get tugged back down by Harry's strong grasp.

"It's not what you think Renée, seriously I-"

"It's fine."

No it's not.

I yank my arm from his hold and walk away before they can see the tears that start to fall down my cheeks.
