Tell me if I look away
Tell me if I look for too long
For with both cowardice and courage I look.
Some days I see darkness
Darkness engulfing a ray of light within,
The ray of light, so pure and so striking
And yet so strained,
attempts to make escape in utter disdain.
Other days I see a void
Void so desperate to fill itself
A void so contemptible and yet so essential.
But today I see nothing
Nothing but the faded wall behind.
Time was slowly turning me into nothingness
And I, with no objection, would gladly accept
For I had lost the passion to exist,
The lustre to be different,
which when a mirror lost
Would too be just glass.
