CH.2
We’ve been down here for twenty minutes already but I know Ezekiel is just getting started. I can tell he is about to lose his temper with me but I can’t help that. I can’t help it if I don’t know what he’s talking about I mean if he wants me to answer him he should quit interrogating me about fairy tales.
“Ok” Ezekiel says trying to control his anger. “Let’s try again I will start with the easy questions. What is your full name?”
“Amelia Seraphine Skye same as it has been for the past three months” I say. “Next question”
“How old are you?” He continues.
“17” I answer.
“What is the name of your pack” He asks eyeing me warily.
“I don’t have a pack I’m not a dog” I say. “I don’t know why you keep asking me these things”
“Who is the alpha of your pack?” He asks giving me a death glare. “Where is your pack located?”
“I told you I don’t have a stinking pack will you let it go already!” I yell at him. He slams his fist on the table between us and I know I’m testing his patience.
“Amelia I know you are trying to protect your pack but I am trying to protect my coven and that means I need you to help me. Ever since this war started we have had to keep watch for threats and I hate that your pack might be involved but you can’t keep faking amnesia like this!” Ezekiel shouts at me. “Why don’t you just give it up and tell me what I want to know if you’re worried about your alpha coming for you don’t I can protect you but only if you tell me the truth”
“I told you already Ezekiel I don’t know what you are talking about! I don’t know what you mean by packs and covens and I don’t know what stupid war you are talking about ok!” I scream back. He raises his hand and I squeeze my eyes shut knowing he is about to snap. His hand connects with my cheek making my head snap to the side with the force of the slap. I put my hand to my burning cheek and glare at him trying my hardest not to cry. It hurts really bad but I am not going to let him know that.
“Amelia I’m sorry but you pushed me too far” Ezekiel says reaching out to touch my cheek. I smack his hand away and glare at him some more.
“Don’t touch me” I say. “Don’t you even pretend to care if I’m hurt because I know you don’t” I add.
“Fine” he sighs. “But I am telling you now Amelia if I don’t get some answers soon someone older and meaner than me is going to take over here. My coven let me take you because I had known you for so long but if I don’t get what I need they will pull me out and replace me.” Ezekiel says in a warning tone.
“Just take me back upstairs now Ezekiel” I say. “We both know we’re done here”
“Not today” he says. “Today is my last chance to get information out of you and I managed to catch a little incentive this morning before I came and got you”
“What incentive?” I ask not knowing what he could possibly mean. Before I say anything else he goes to the door and opens it. Two mean looking guys with pale skin and huge muscles drag in a struggling boy who is about my age.
“This pup was snooping around your house” Ezekiel says. “He is from your pack I know because he bears the same mark as you” The boy looks at me and his eyes nearly bug out of his head.
“Miss Amelia” He says sounding shocked. “We’ve looked everywhere for you are you alright? Alpha will be so glad you’re alive you have no idea how worried the pack has been especially since your accident” He continues. “We were worried your memory loss had gotten worse and you had wandered off and gotten lost I guess now it’s clear that you were taken instead” He glares at Ezekiel.
“You even have your pack in on the memory loss act” Ezekiel laughs. “How pathetic”
“What act you moron I already told you I don’t know what you’re talking about and as for him I’ve never seen him before in my life” I snap. The boy looks hurt by my words and I feel a little bad about that though I don’t know why.
“I guess I should try to jog your memory then” Ezekiel says smiling evilly at the boy. He walks toward the boy and I start to get worried I know what Ezekiel is capable of. “Shift!” He shouts at the boy. The boy flinches but doesn’t do anything.
“Make me bloodsucker” The boy snarls, I kid you not this guy literally just snarled at Ezekiel and I wonder what he meant by that bloodsucker bit.
“Do it now or her pretty little face might get damaged” Ezekiel threatens. Wait is he talking about me? “Don’t test me pup she has already used up my patience today”
“Alright” The boy agrees. “I’ll do it just don’t hurt her” suddenly his entire body begins to shake and he falls to his hands and knees. His back arcs and he explodes into a huge brown wolf. I nearly fall out of my chair trying to back away. I press myself against the wall trying to stay as far from the beast as possible.
“He … he just t…turned into a… a big w…wolf” I stutter. “What is he?”
“Playing dumb will only get him hurt” Ezekiel says. He delivers a swift kick to the wolf’s ribs and it whimpers in pain. “I thought you werewolves were supposed to be protective of your pack mates”
“Ezekiel stop it” I cry out. “I don’t know anything alright I’m sorry but I don’t. Don’t hurt it just because I don’t have the information you want”
“Wrong answer” he says grabbing a stick from the wall and hitting the wolf on the back with it.
“Ezekiel stop” I scream. I run toward him and try to shove him away.
“That won’t work little dog” Ezekiel taunts. “Maybe you should try shifting you’re faster in your true form”
“I don’t shift Ezekiel this is the only form I have you know that you’ve known me for years” I say.
“You’re both right and wrong” He says bitterly. “I have known you for years so I know what you are you yourself used to tease me because of how unlikely it was that a vampire and a werewolf would be best friends. You used to crack jokes about how funny it would be to see the faces of my coven leader and your alpha if they ever found out we were friends” He continues as what looks like sadness crosses his features. It is gone in seconds and he again swings the board at the animal on the ground. I hear a sickening crack as something breaks and a human scream escapes the wolf. I look down and he is once again a human. He is sweating and tears run down his face as he clutches his side. It must have been a rib I heard break. He looks so helpless I feel a sudden anger fill me I see red and I black out for a second. The next thing I know Ezekiel is pinned to the wall in front of me and I hear what sounds like a dog growling. I look at where I think my hand is gripping his neck and instead find a huge black paw. “What was that about not being able to shift” Ezekiel chokes out. I hear a whine as I let him go and back away. He pulls out a mirror. “Look at yourself Amelia this is what you are don’t even try to deny it now.” He's right I can't deny it in the mirror where my reflection should be is a huge black wolf staring at me its eyes wide.
“She doesn’t look so good” One of the guys who had dragged in the boy says. I start to feel light headed and suddenly the ground rushes forward then everything goes black.
