"Wind power, water power, coal power - How great would it be if you could harness the power of a young man in love?"
- Richard Dahm

George felt his brain rot away at the professor's voice. His mind wandering around wall to wall. He thought college would enrich him or the professor would speak his language. Nonetheless each moment he dedicated his soul to

treading this class; he felt disappointed in himself. By this stage in his life he should be in a important position like a doctor or teacher. Instead he was still in phase one and hasn't moved a inch. The clock struck six a.m. only five minutes of life passed. And the remaining hour will be nawing at his patience.

"Mr.Harrison since you enjoy my class. How about you answer my question?" The professor voiced slightly bitter. George saw the crowd of irises observe him and awaited for him to oblige. Instead he propped his legs up and made himself comfortable.

"No I think I'm good here."

"Ha. Funny I forgot to laugh. Now do it." She fake laughed but George refuse to budge. He sat back and shook his head which slowly infuriated the professor. However she won't fail at getting him to do something. He should be gone by now and returned his money. But gave him some benefit of the doubt. Maybe a little too much.

"Fine. If you don't care then leave." George registered her words and thought what great relief. But his parents would give him the same speech and nothing would change. They would still coddle him with cash and a roof over his head. Which was more pleasing than a roommate. Yet he couldn't go crawling back. It was boring watching life turn and you sitting there not making it happen.

He considered, recollecting his thoughts for a moment. Until he got snapped back into reality by the professor's shrill, high-pitched voice.

"So are you going sit there or leave." He sighed and walked down the steps. A few sniggered as he passed and one nearly tripped him. George grumbled under his breath and took the chalk.

George pursed his lips on a cigarette to pass the time. He waited for the train to go home. Since he lived on the other side of town and it would be longer by car. The area around him slowly emptying of people. In addition to it have a putrid odor of garbage and water. That scattered around the ground or being taking under the wind's arms.

His bronze eyes were growing weary and decided to entertain himself by encasing himself in his thoughts. A young woman fifteen years his junior took a seat furthest from him. She was dark-skinned, girthy, with voluminous ginger curls, and hazel brown eyes. Her attire consisted of a maroon dress and white heels with a silver choker.

Her attention averted to her book. Then to him. Mumbling a few words to him. He didn't understand them or could figure it out. But shook his head as if he did. The woman chuckled and went back to reading.

"I wasn't trying to be funny y'know." He spoke up and she immediately covered her mouth. A blush of embarrassment covered her face like a veil. And her cheekbones caught in a web of flames.

"I'm sorry I-

"No worries." He finished and they endured silence for a few minutes. Then the train came for Mapleton Valley and both of them were ready to part. However before she set foot on the train he called after her. He took a small sunflower out of his pocket to give to her. Even if this moment would be stuck for today. He had the desire to make someone smile before day's end. Just to see something to freshen up his day.

"Excuse me young lady. I think you need this." He said and placed it into her hand. A confused look to hold of her chubby face.

"I never took any flowers with me today. But thank you stranger." He nodded going into the other side of the cart in silence. She placed it in her book and bookmarked her page. Once entering the train her mind wandered over the small sunflower.

"Ye seem happy tonight Ms.Dhalia. Is something wrong?" Her roommate Jimmy asked and she shrugged it off. Keeping a blank face until she could be alone.

"Goodnight I'm retiring early tonight." Jimmy raised an eyebrow.

"What? I just want a change of a pace." Jimmy didn't mind it but still had some curiosity left as who abandoned the smile for her to catch.

Dhalia placed the sunflower in her shoebox of personal possessions. She smiled at it once more then placed it in her closet. Drifting away at the thought of it and the person who gave it to her.
