Getting Along

A new semester in Kadic as the gates open again. With cars pulling up and dropping off the students, both old and new, everyone departs for yet another day on campus. While others were just arriving, there are a few who stayed. The ones who stayed living in their dorms.
An alarm sets off a loud sound waking up Hiroki right next to his ear.
"Agh! I'm up. I'm up!" Hiroki turning off his alarm, takes a deep breath and begins to stretch. He was still too sleepy though and fell right back down for some shut eye.
In the Women's dorm, Samantha Knight (also known as Sam) heads out and walks downstairs and knocks on Hiroki's door with a rhythmic beat. Hiroki recognized that sound and simply said, "Go away. Just 5 more minutes."
"5 minutes? You better open up in 5 seconds or..." Sam grabs the door knob and smiled realizing that it was unlocked.
"Sam, please. I been up all night." Hiroki said restlessly.
"Let me guess, you were up playing video games again?"
"A little." Hiroki yawned and turned his back on Sam.
"So you need help waking up, huh? No problem." Sam grabs the cover from underneath pulling Hiroki down to the ground and collapsed. Sam laughed.
"Hey, that wasn't funny." Hiroki gets up, rubbing his back side. "I'll get you back for that."
"Haha. Yeah, right. But hey, where's Johnny?"

On the other side of campus, Johnny was outside getting his classes for the new semester. He had a sad expression when he saw that he had to retake Mrs. Hertz class for failing the test last time with Hiroki.
"Oh well, at least I have my best friend with me. I hope." Johnny sighed and slightly smiled trying to look at the bright side of things. While walking and looking down at his paper, he accidentally bumps into somebody and drops his paper. Picking the paper up he sees his once true love again, Laura.
"Oh, um, I'm sorry." Johnny trembled with shyness.
"It's ok." Laura said smiling. Johnny smiled back.
"Hey you." She said, but not to Johnny. She walked pass him and towards Patrick Belpois.
"What?" Johnny in shock. He watched as the two smiled and went for a walk together.
"Hey, Laura. Hows it going?" He tells her. And Patrick frowned as he went stomping back to the dorm.
Passing by as well came Milly with her best friend, Tamiya. They smiled and took pictures of everyone with the bright flash on. Almost everyone went blind. Johnny didn't see where he was going and bumped into another student.
"Oh isn't this great! Another day for another fresh scoop." Milly said.
"Yeah. I wonder what we come across next, Milly." Tamiya tells her best friend.
"Really, how about this?" Jim interrupting the moment, "How about I take that camera the next time you flash someone, Diop? The sun's out and it's a fresh day. It's not night time ladies."
"Oh but Jim, it's a new day." Milly tells Jim.
"Yes you're right. But not a day to be blinding the kids here in their first day. Someone could get hurt. Now go take it somewhere else before I do." Jim puts his foot down and crossed his arms in front of his chest. The girls see their chance as Tamiya takes a quick picture of Jim and run off.
"Hey, what did i just say!" As Jim ran blind the opposite direction. The two laughed and went on towards the gymnasium.

Hiroki's Dorm

"Are you done yet? Its been 20 minutes already. We're going to be late." Sam waiting for Hiroki outside. Seconds later, he gets out with his pants on and shirt ready. Sam stops him and walks into his room throwing his backpack to him.
"Thanks. Ow!" Hiroki cried out as Sam punched his shoulder.
"You're welcome, dork. Haha." She laughed. And the two run off chasing each other, laughing.

Vending Machine

"So how was it with your family?" Laura asked Patrick.
"It was alright, you know. We had my uncle and aunt come over and just talked about how I liked Kadic. Long story short I just told them how I met this wonderful girl who have me a tour around campus."
"Shut up." She laughed.
"No really, they thought it was cute." Patrick continued.
"Are you always a charmer with the ladies?" She asked.
"Well yeah. I mean what kind of guy would I be if I wasn't?" He tells her. Patrick grabs his coffee and takes a second to sip it.
"So anyways, how was yours, Laura?"
"Who me?" Laura was shy with words, "Well to be honest, I just stayed here."
"Oh, really?" Patrick smiled at her. She blushed for a moment until she saw Hiroki. Hiroki accidentally runs into Patrick, dropping his coffee onto Laura's clothes.
"Oh!" Laura was wet with coffee.
"Oh no-" Hiroki said and then Sam caught up to him and crashes onto him. A domino effect happens as Hiroki crashes onto Patrick again. This time, Patrick falls onto Laura and the two collapse face to face. At that moment, the two blushed shy at each other. Suddenly, a flash of light came at them out of nowhere blinding them seconds later. It was Milly.
"Oh wow. First day for first love. It's not even Valentines Day, and yet I feel love in the air." Milly said. She was happy and filled with joy.
"Milly, wait. You got it all wrong." Hiroki tried explaining. But Milly was daydreaming imagining what her scoop would be like. She muted him off throughout the entire explanation he was trying to tell her until Sam came in. She took the camera pulling Milly along with her because of the strap wrapped around her neck and got her attention.
"Hey! What are you-" Milly cried out. But without hesitating, Sam grabbed hold of the picture and took it away from her.
"When will you ever learn, Milly? Now go!" Sam exclaimed, with her finger pointing the way out.
"Hey take it easy, Sam. It's not her fault." Tamiya defending her best friend.
"Yeah. What's your problem!" Milly's voice began to break down for she was about to cry.
Then came the principal, Mr. Delmas.
"What is the meaning of this, Ms. Knight? You put her down this instant!" He ordered.
Sam gulped up her anger. She closed her eyes and released Milly from her grasp. But when she opened them, she looked at Milly once more. Milly looked back and looked down at the picture Sam was holding onto as she slipped it into her back pocket.
"Nothing happened, sir." Milly said. But Mr. Delmas didn't believe her.
"Come along now, the two of you. Do any of you care to explain what happened? If so, you can come as well."
Nobody went. Then the three of them left to the office.
