-September-

Today marks the first day of senior year.

I can not even begin to explain the excitement I feel to almost being done with high school. I can tell you this for sure, high school sucked.

Not only does the work make my head explode but it was so uneventful and left me with not many happy memories at all. All my memories are with Kailey and all Kaileys memories are with me. Nothings changed since fourth grade and I hate it.  Thank god I have Kailey though.

I hope this year is different. I hope this year is eventful. I hope this year I have memories with other people. Not just Kailey.

Speaking of miss Kailey, she comes barging through my bedroom door making me jump out of my peaceful slumber quite frantically.

"Good morning Sam!" She says cheerfully. How is she always so happy? I wish I could be as jolly as her.

"Kailey," I growl and throw a pillow at her.

"Your mom let me in," She rips the blankets off of me, making me feel the cool breeze from the world outside of my blankets.

"Kailey," I growl yet again, covering my face in the pillows.

"Wake up you lazy sack! It's a big day!" She rips the pillow out from under my head and wacks me, quite hard may I add,  on my head.

"Ok! Ok! You win, wait downstairs for me," I hiss.

She huffs and walks out the door.

..

This year me and Kailey have two classes together plus lunch. Additionally, it is my senior year so I don't care about basically anything anymore.

So far the week has been dragging. I find it to finally be Friday which is a nice relief.

"So whats the plan for tonight?" Kailey spits out as I begin to dial the combo to get into my locker.

"Sleep," I shrug.

I grab my lunch box and we begin to head to the lunchroom.

"Hey guys," Our friend, Alex greets us as we sit across the table from her. Alex has been my neighbor for as long as I can remember so she is always one of those friends who is just always there.

Alex has plenty of other 'cooler' friends than me and Kailey so I don't understand why she still hangs around with us.

"Hi Alex!" Kailey smiles.

"So I hope you guys don't have any plans tonight," Alex smirks.

"Sam does," Kaileys says and I nudge her shoulder.

"We're both free," I give her a smile and nod.

"Sweet, I am inviting a shit load of people over tonight and we are going to party so hard!" She laughs.

Great. A party. Never been to one. Never planned on going to one. Alex always throws the loudest, most obnoxious parties when her parents aren't home that I never go to but can hear clearly from my house so I guess I have technichally been to some.

"We will be there! I promise! Yaaaay!" Kailey claps her hands together.

I give her the death glare. She knows that is not my crowd. Kailey gives me the 'I don't care what you say, your coming' look and then smiles at Alex.

"Ok good so come around 8. I gotta go to the library, see you guys later!" She waves goodbye.

"We're going." Kailey says as soon as Alex is out of our sight.

"You have no say in it this time. Just go for me please?" Kailey begs.

I growl. "Fine I'll go because I know you always wanted too," I give her a fake smile. "But we are not staying for long," She throws her arms up and pulls them around me for a hug. At least she is happy.

..

The time reads:  7:15 p.m.   45 minutes. I should probably get ready now. Maybe.

The door bell begins to ring like crazy almost resembling a starving kid on halloween. I don't even have to open it to know its Kailey.

I open the door to see the smallest, tightest, black little skirt I have ever seen on Kailey. And to top it off her tank top is covered in pink sparkles.

"You look like shit," She says when she sees my sweats and my ratty old basketball jersey I wore in the fifth grade.

"Hello Kailey! Good to see you! You look dazzling!" I use as much sarcasm as I can while giving her the fakest of smiles. She mockingly laughs and pushes her way inside up the stairs.

"I am picking out your clothes," Kailey demands as we step into my room. "Kailey, love you, but I rather not look bleh," I use as a synonym for how trashy and slutty the girls will be dressed at the party. "You will not look bleh, you will look awesome I promise! Please just let me do your hair and makeup," She begs. I wait a few seconds to let her know I need to think over this unpleasant situation.

"Just a little," I say and she begins to jump up and down. "Makeover! Makeover!" I roll my eyes and sit down next to my vanity.

The next 20 minutes consist of Kailey running around with a curler in one hand and eyeliner in the other. I know she is loving every second of it. She always tells me how badly she has wanted to go to beauty school and become a hairdresser or makeup artist of the sorts. Now that college is in the near future she needs to finally let her parents know of this dream.

"Ok try this on," She throws clothes at me so quickly I couldn't even see what they look like. I shrug and begin to put them on. Luckily the dress she threw is not so bad, considering it is from my own closet. It is a short black strapless dress with one of those sweetheart neck lines. I always liked how this one fit.

"Oh my god girl you look like a girl! I love it!" I laughed at her and turned around to see myself in the mirror. Wow does makeup change how you look completely. I felt good, I felt confident. Maybe tonight won't suck as bad as I thought.
